Elaine Shows Pride Against Ciminella

With the scratches of Lucy N Thunder (Lightnin N Thunder - L. D. Operator by Caller I. D.), Paris Heiress (Wildcat Heir - Valid Reward by Valid Expectations) and Sonnys Lady (Proud Accolade - Sharpbrook by Montbrook), this was reduced to a field of 5. Olive Eye (Maria's Mon - Rapidamente by Dixieland Band) received most of the attention from the bettors, and looked the part in the paddock. Mama Dukes (Lightnin N Thunder - Pleasant Delight by Pleasant Colony) looked a little aggravated. Ciminella (Afleet Alex - Bruanna by Housebuster) warmed up nicely away from the pony. At the break, Mama Dukes jumped to the lead, with Olive Eye pressing. Ciminella and Elaine's Pride (Dixie Union - Ski Breeze by Mr. Prospector) lingered at the back. Elaine's Pride started moving in the stretch and caught Mama Dukes for the win. Ciminella also moved well late to pick up third. Watch the Replay.

Just love "Ubriaco".  It means "drunkard" in italian.  The name caught my eye in his last race and I hope he does well in his career, just so that I can grin every time I read his name.
