Oak Fairs Well Over Tactition

Inclusivity (Include - Cherie Baby by Ogygian) was favored, going off close to even money. Tie Score (Even the Score - Very Classy Lady by Mountain Cat) had a bounce to his step in the paddock, while Studley (Stormin Fever - Green Light by Sheikh Albadou (GB)) was moving sideways. Tactition (Afleet Alex - Natural Carma by Valiant Nature) looked good. At the break, Fair Oak (Forest Camp - Amity by Afleet) went right to the lead, with Ride Cowboy Ride (Posse - Colleague by Cherokee Run) pressing. Sticking close were Your in for Half (Snuck In - Dead Ender by Ends Well) and Afriendforlucy (Southern Image - Sensational Eyes by Roman Majesty). Tactition stumbled at the start, and was with the trailers. Ride Cowboy Ride dropped off the pace, but Fair Oak kept going, fending off a bid from Your in for Half. Studley gained ground in the stretch, but couldn't catch Fair Oak. Tactition passed a few late to finish 6th. Favorite Inclusivity broke down in the stretch and was pulled up. Watch the Replay.

Don't Wink Eyes My Alexis

The track was sloppy for this one, but there were no scratches apart from the AE horses, Lady Gibson (Gibson County - Lady Janell by Copelan) and Nuff Said P Y T (Wheelaway - Big Fat Moose by Citidancer). The bettors had a little trouble deciding on a choice. Dayanara's Secret (Safe in the U S A - Beautiful Spy by Many a Wish) was favored early, but Fappie's Princess (Fappie's Notebook - Joy Princess by It's Freezing) was the pick when the gates opened. Florida Queen (Dawn Quixote - Birdie's Sister by Proud Birdie) seemed to be enjoying the slop, while My Alexis (Afleet Alex - Saint's Play by Saint Ballado) looked composed. As the gates opened, Maneuver (Concorde's Tune - Waitryst (NZ) by Bassenthwaite (GB)) sprung to the lead, closely followed by Fappie's Princess. My Alexis was off slowly. In the stretch, a new player emerged, as 34-1 shot Don't Wink (Omega Code - Wha'pa by Victory Gallop) came running and went by everyone for the victory. My Alexis started moving too late, passing a few to finish 7th. Watch the Replay.

When you say that Satum is Chilean bred (for Race 2 at Belmont Park), do you mean he was born on Southern time so he defaults to the southern hemisphere August 1st birthday instead of January 1st?  If so, how does that work considering he is (I presume) an "older" 2YO?

And even if he was born in North America, was his dam bred on southern hemisphere time? So isn't he then at another disadvantage in terms of age?

I can hardly keep all these baby Kittens straight, With everyone using the name "Kitten" it's like a tangled ball of yarn!!!  Without your help, BH Staff, I would be having a catnip attack!! :)

mz - good question. Satum was bred in Chile, but on NA time. His birthday is March 15 - so no age disadvantage. Unfortunately, he is scratched, probably because the race is off of the turf.

steve s - strange that he's running in Canada, however.

sweet terchi - It is sometimes tough keeping the Kittens straight. It's especially difficult to remember the gender when, for example, Becky's Kitten is a colt. I understand that it's Becky's Kitten (possessive), but it would be easier if the gender of the name fit the gender of the horse!
