Mobil Forum Punches Billy

Mobil Forum (Mobil - Appealing Forum by Open Forum) received most of the attention at the windows, and he looked the part. Too Fast Jack (Act of Duty - Joyful Pat by Northern Jove) was on his toes in the paddock. Billy's Punch (Saint Liam - Slewzig by Seattle Slew) was calm and collected, maybe too calm. Ungiven Reason (Bold n' Flashy - Shine for a Reason by Prized) was getting a little anxious once they were on the track. Touch This (Black Mambo - Assuring Touch by With Approval), one of two fillies in the race, broke on top, but Ungiven Reason came up the inside to join her. Billy's Punch was near the back. Ungiven Reason went on by Touch This and built up a several length advantage. The favorite, Mobil Forum, began moving from third. He caught the pacesetter with little effort and zoomed on by. He drew off to win by better than 8, seemingly without breaking a sweat. I know this was Fort Erie, but this is a nice horse. Remember, he's a half-brother to stakes winner Milwaukee Appeal, who won the Woodbine Oaks and finished 2nd in the Prince of Wales, and 3rd in the Queen's Plate. Mobil Forum is the third winner for his sire, Mobil. Billy's Punch ended up 9th (last). Watch the Replay.

One Rolls Over Cutter

Pugaboo (Afleet Alex - Incircle Miss by Dayjur) was scratched, as well as Snow Kris (Snow Ridge - Crimson by Kris S.). Proud Moment (Posse - Coxcomb by Cox's Ridge) was favored, but Cutter (Saint Liam - Brite Diamond by Deputy Minister) was also receiving plenty of attention from the bettors. Caesar's Gold (Roman Ruler - She's Exclusive by Pyramid Peak) was making noise in the paddock, but for the most part the 2-year olds were well behaved before they got onto the track. Once they got on the track, A Little Warm (Stormin Fever - Minidar by Alydar) objected to the pony, El Pichon (Mr. Shoplifter - Girl On Go by Mister Jolie) was keyed up, and Hobo Ridge (Tiger Ridge - Allen's Ms by Allen's Prospect) was bucking. Cutter broke well, but it was A Little Warm who took the lead. He was joined by One Roll (Strong Hope - Stormeor by Lypheor (GB)), and these two dueled. Cutter moved in from his outside post to secure a good spot on the rail. In the stretch, both Hobo Ridge and Proud Moment came running. But, One Roll held off the favorite by a neck to get the win. Hobo Ridge, who hopped at the start, did well to finish third. Cutter couldn't keep up late and finished 5th. Watch the Replay..
