Tapitsflies to P. G. Johnson Victory

Unraced I Do That (Wheelaway - Cat in Deed by Alydeed) and Mehndi (Pulpit - Dubai Visit by Quiet American) were scratched. Smart Seattle (Smart Strike - Seattle Bay by Opening Verse) was favored, and she looked good. Lisa's Kitten (Kitten's Joy - Chianti Red by Woodman) was on her toes, and Maddie's Odyssey (Kitten's Joy - Personal Odyssey by Lemon Drop Kid) got a strong warm-up. Smart Seattle balked a bit at the load, but broke well. However, Tapitsfly (Tapit - Flying Marlin by Marlin) went to the lead. Write When Ready (More Than Ready - Epistle by Deputy Minister) was pressing, with Lucky to Be Me (Bernstein - Belle Erzulie by Pulpit) and Smart Seattle not far off. Lisa's Kitten and Maddie's Odyssey were at the back, but the pack was pretty compact at that point. Smart Seattle made a move to draw even with Tapitsfly, but Tapitsfly pulled away again, to win by more than a length in her first turf start. Beautiful Song (Unbridled's Song - She's a Beauty by Storm Cat) moved well late to take third from Lucky to Be Me. Maddie's Odyssey and Lisa's Kitten didn't run much, finishing 5th and 6th. Watch the Replay.

Crossfirehurricane Blows Past Raise the Kitty

In Te Domine (Freud - Luminate by A. P. Indy), part of an entry with Eager Leader (More Than Ready - Off Guard by Red Ransom), was scratched, allowing Raise the Kitty (Kitten's Joy - Elevate by Cox's Ridge) to draw into the race off of the AE list. She was the pick of the wagering crowd, going off at close to even money. She looked good in the walking ring, and even better out on the track. The other one that caught my eye was Crossfirehurricane (Eurosilver - Wind in My Eyes by Mr. Greeley). Flower Exchange (Exchange Rate - Rose of Galway by Irish River (FR)) took the lead early, despite stumbling at the start, but she was hard pressed by Crossfirehurricane. Raise the Kitty was back in 7th. Flower Exchange tired in the stretch, and Never Dream (Vindication - North Dream by Unbridled's Song) took up the chase. She was coming at the end, but Crossfirehurricane held on for the win. She is the 6th winner for freshman sire Eurosilver. Raise the Kitty made a 5-wide move, but could get no closer than 5th, finishing 6th. Watch the Replay.
