Witch's Coven Puts a Spell on Moment of Majesty

Church View (Quiet American - Holy Belle by Holy Bull) was scratched. Favoritism volleyed between Thorn Flower (Montjeu (IRE) - Champagne Cocktail by Red Ransom) and Witch's Coven (Cuvee - Witch's Call by Caller I. D.), resting on the latter filly at post time. Moment of Majesty (Saint Liam - Lady Indy by A. P. Indy) looked interested in the post parade, while Legendary Stacey (Include - Ruth Ann d'Or by Tour d'Or) looked agitated. Witch's Coven was an eyecatcher. Moment of Majesty broke well, but it looked as if the jockey did not want to be on the lead. Instead, Silent Wisper (Wando - Silent Course by Trajectory) went to the front, and Moment of Majest secured a rail spot. In the stretch, Thorn Flower moved to the lead, as Moment of Majesty tired. She would end up 5th. Thorn Flower seemed home free, but Witch's Coven was coming. They hit the wire together, I certainly couldn't tell who got it. The photo revealed the winner, Witch's Coven by a nose. Watch the Replay.
