Dia De La Raza Stakes (Pr-III)

Sweet Kitten (Kitten's Joy - Sweet Cassidy by Saint Ballado) was ultra-impressive in the Dia De La Raza Stakes (Pr-III) at Camarero. She sat off the early pace, made her move, and dominated in the stretch. This is her third straight win, and her second straight grade III win. Frankly, I think she's run out of competition in Puerto Rico.

Grey Stakes (Can-III)

As he did in the Sunday Silence, William's Kitten (colt; Kitten's Joy - Blush by Menifee) sat at the back of the pack and then made a move in the stretch. But, the fractions up front were soft, and he could do no better than 5th (a nose from 4th). Bear Tough Guy (Roar of the Tiger - Lady Cruella by Capote) was the most impressive looking before the race, and in the race, as he got up late for the win.

Bourbon Stakes (gr. III)

Scottkeith'skitten (Kitten's Joy - Miss Bergdorf by Old Trieste) broke on top, but took back. He was in a good position on the rail, but he steadily went backwards and finished last. The winner was the With Anticipation victor Interactif (Broken Vow - Broad Pennant by Broad Brush, who was much the best.

A Moment of Majesty

The race was taken off the turf and run at a mile and 70 yards on the Polytrack. Dixie Gal (Dixie Union - Six Sexy Sisters by Langfuhr), Miss Lola (Bernstein - Carson City Sham by Carson City), Bush Daisy (Eurosilver - New York Jessica by Phone Trick), Rushsweetcharlotte (Bwana Charlie - Platinum Hawk by Silver Ghost), and Renaissance Girl (Bernstein - Artiste by Norquestor) were scratched. First-time starter Fire Into Ice (Perfect Soul (IRE) - Tapatina by Seeking the Gold) was favored and looked good, as did Itsallaboutmenow (Sligo Bay (IRE) - Wildaboutyouagain by Risen Star). Moment of Majesty (Saint Liam - Lady Indy by A. P. Indy) was getting some attention at the windows at 6-1. Prado Girl (Rahy - Zaheemah by El Prado (IRE)) and Moment of Majesty were bouncing on the track. Once the gates opened, Superstardom (Smarty Jones - Ever Lasting by General Assembly) and Saraluna (Unbridled's Song - Stylelistick by Storm Cat) mixed it up on the front, while Moment of Majesty secured a good spot behind the speed. She was blocked on the turn, but found some daylight and bounded to the lead in the stretch. Fire Into Ice rallied from nowhere to take second, but she couldn't catch Moment of Majesty. This was a very professional win for Moment of Majesty, as she became the 7th winner for Saint Liam. Watch the Replay.

Showing Some Class

Tabby (Storm Cat - Affluent by Affirmed) took the early money, but No Such Word (Canadian Frontier - Muskoka Ice by It's Freezing) was favored at post time, and she looked the part. Quiet Class (Kitten's Joy - Balancing Act by Spectacular Bid) was getting no love at the windows, going off at 40-1. She is a rare Kitten's Joy, with no white on her face. Aqualane Shores (Friends Lake - Wishes Come True by Honour and Glory) warmed up nicely. They loaded fairly smoothly for a race full of first-time starters. Quiet Class broke well and went right to the lead. Harlan's Princess (Harlan's Holiday - Pocketbook Passion by Siphon (BRZ)) pressed early, but she was done after a half. Aqualane Shores put in a bid in the stretch, but Quiet Class could not be caught. She was actually extending her lead at the end, winning by better than 2 and rewarding her backers with a nice $82 payoff. With this gate-to-wire debut score, Quiet Class became winner number 15 for Kitten's Joy. Watch the Replay.

Carphonic Dominates

Debuter Carphonic (Lion Heart - Carsomatic by Carson City) was the big favorite, but Seattle Zip (City Zip - Seattle Showers by Seattle Slew) also received some attention. Roca Sweet (Rock Hard Ten - Sugar N Spice by Strike the Anvil) was a cool 23-1. Born to Walk Alone (Omega Code - Posh Pet by Tactical Advantage) was full of herself. Roca Sweet looked good. Halcyon Days (Put It Back - Career Day by Cherokee Run) took the early lead, pressed by Bounding Bi (Outflanker - Bound On Bi by Bounding Basque). Carphonic was sitting just off of these. She made her move on the outside and pulled farther and farther away, winning by better than 8. A very impressive debut for Carphonic. Seattle Zip (City Zip - Seattle Showers by Seattle Slew) made up ground late to take second. Roca Sweet was squeezed at the start, and galloped around at the back after that. Watch the Replay.
