Dean's Kitten has a Vision

Mr. Vegas (Freud - Lhotse by The Minstrel) was favored, but Zapster (Ghostzapper - Extend by Unbridled's Song) and his entrymate Golly Day (Lion Heart - Wake Up Kiss by Cure the Blues), and Krypton (Rock Hard Ten - Freedom Reigns by Unbridled's Song) all received plenty attention from the bettors. Krypton went for the early lead, along with Mr. Vegas. Just behind these was Zapster. Dean's Kitten (Kitten's Joy - Summer Theatre by Ide) was sitting mid-pack, and Shrimp Dancer (Kitten's Joy - Formal Dancer by Formal Gold) was at the back. Zapster made his move, and took the lead after 6 furlongs. But, Dean's Kitten was coming. He rallied wide and hit the front in the stretch. Imaging (Dynaformer - Gaze by Danzig) made a run at him, but Dean's Kitten had enough to get the victory. Coming on strong late was Shrimp Dancer, who took the third spot. Dean's Kitten is the 5th stakes winner for Kitten's Joy, and his 3rd stakes winner in two days. Shrimp Dancer is the 8th stakes performer for Kitten's Joy. Zapster ended up 5th, and Krypton tired to 9th. Watch the Replay.

Westover Wild Over Golden Ghost

Not much change during this four horse race. Westover Wildcat (Forest Wildcat - Bronze Abe by Two Punch) went right to the lead. Although Golden Ghost couldn't catch Westover Wildcat, he was well clear of the other two. Golden Ghost now has a record of 2 wins, 1 second, and 1 third in 6 starts, with earnings of $77,680. Risking Litigation Over Alex Le Great

Schoolyard Dreams (Stephen Got Even - Hear This by Prospector's Music) was scratched. Alex Le Great (Afleet Alex - Colonial Glitter by Glitterman) was slightly favored over 2nd choice Litigation Risk (Closing Argument - Silver Bliss by Silver Deputy). This one was game on from the break. Litigation and Alex Le Great both went for the lead. Litigation Risk got it, but Alex Le Great was right with him. D'oro Dancer (Medaglia d'Oro - Cat Dancer by Storm Cat) was in the mix as well. At the turn, the three were still together. D'oro Dancer gave in first. The other two battled into the stretch. Litigation Risk pulled away at that point, winning by 2. Alex Le Great was a clear second, while Fly Down flew into third. Litigation Risk is winner number 12 for Closing Argument. Watch the Replay.

Donna Gets Going, La Gran Bailadora Gets Left

Starlite Starbrite (Mutakddim - Starlight Surprise by Salutely) was scratched. Sheryl's Melody (More Than Ready - Gera by Capote) was the early favorite, but Donna Getyourgun (Stormy Atlantic - Cryptoqueen by Cryptoclearance) was the choice at post time. La Gran Bailadora (Afleet Alex - Affirmed Dancer by Affirmed), who was debuting in blinkers and no hind shoes, was 17-1. Bethaven (Victory Gallop - Watercolourtwo by Secreto) was full of pep in the paddock. Baby Sister (Tale of the Cat - Twice Tempted by Wild Again) caught my eye. Lady Symphony (Consolidator - Dancing Naturally by Fred Astaire) was acting up in the post parade. La Gran Bailadora was a problem child at the load. First, she was a tad reluctant. Then, the back feet started flying. She certainly has some skill with those. She was kicking fast and far. The gate crew was very patient and finally got her loaded. However, she was totally left at the break and that was pretty much the end of the race for her. She may be getting some gate work after this one. Taking the lead was longshot Kenny Lane (Forestry - Vantive by Mr. Prospector), who was running pretty free up there. Coming in the stretch were Baby Sister and Donna Getyourgun. The latter filly pulled away from Baby Sister to get the victory. Kenny Lane did well to hold third. Watch the Replay.
