More Than a Little Warm

Black Gabriel (Put It Back - Monday Saint by Sweetsouthernsaint) and Stay Hip (Value Plus - Race to Glory by Honour and Glory) were scratched. A Little Warm (Stormin Fever - Minidar by Alydar) was the big favorite, Trappist Monk (Saint Liam - Merengue by Broad Brush) was a cool 46-1. Someone was loose in the paddock. Naturally, it was Trappist Monk. However, he didn't get far and they soon had him back under control. Big City Deputy (Silver Deputy - Big City Dream by Horatius) looked good in the post parade. Wicked Tune (Concorde's Tune - Pretty Wicked by The Wicked North) was fussing behind the gate as they loaded. Wicked Tune broke on top, and he battled for supremacy with Big City Deputy and Key to Brooklyn (Dark Kestrel - Key of E by Skip Trial). Trappist Monk was off last and trailed the field. Wicked Tune took a short lead, but A Little Warm was making up ground between horses. He hit the front and kept on going, 5 lengths in front, then 10. The final winning margin was 10 3/4 lengths. Picking up 2nd late was Sonar (Officer - It's an Echo by Eastern Echo). Trappist Monk ended up where he started, in last. But, he did make up some lengths to catch the rest of the field. Watch the Replay.
