News and Notes

As predicted, La Gran Bailadora (Afleet Alex - Affirmed Dancer by Affirmed) was scratched from the 6th at Fair Grounds. The race came off of the turf and was won by MTO Starlite Starbrite (Mutakddim - Starlight Surprise by Salutely) in a romp. Watch the Replay.

Itsadouble G Thing Rocks

The track was fast and there were no scratches. Itsadouble G Thing (Arch - Little May by Air Forbes Won) was favored. Afleet Lily (Afleet Alex - Day Lily by A. P. Indy) was 9-2 and Rock Hard Baby (Rock Hard Ten - Bully's Del Mar by Notebook) was 6-1. Afleet Lily unseated her rider as they headed to the track, but he was soon back aboard. Rock Hard Baby looked ready. Itsadbouble G Thing went right to the lead, while Afleet Lily could see them all. Rock Hard Baby was in a good position early on the rail, and moved up get involved in the stretch. For a moment, it looked like she would threaten the pacesetter, but Itsadouble G thing spurted away to win by better than 3. It is nice to see Air Forbes Won, who was recently euthanized at age 30, in a winning pedigree. Rock Hard Baby just held off Casino Glory to finish second. Afleet Lily came from nowhere to pick up the fourth spot.  Watch the Replay.
