Bear On Display

Bear's Hard Ten (Rock Hard Ten - Playforme by Gone West) looked good as they headed to the track for the Display Stakes at Woodbine. He sat just off the pace set by Send Him In (Came Home - Moment of Honour by Honour and Glory). Also up close was Just Call Me Roger (One Nice Cat - Sport Cafe by Fortunate Prospect). Bear's Hard Ten made his bid on the turn. Just Call Me Roger went with him for awhile, but then Bear's Hard Ten was gone. He cruised to an easy 3 3/4 length victory. Favorite Giant's Tomb (Awesome Again - Song of the Wild by Gone West) and the filly Redverse (Menifee - Chamrousse by Peaks and Valleys) closed for 2nd and 3rd. This was a very nice win for Bear's Hard Ten, who is the third stakes winner for Rock Hard Ten. Watch Replay. Read more about the Display here.

The Win Express

The track was sealed, and the track condition was downgraded to muddy just before post time. There were no scratches. Pow Wow (Indian Charlie - Doctor Danielle by Spectacular Bid) was the even money choice. Afleet Express (Afleet Alex - Expanse by Distant View) was favored early, but went off at 4-1. Brake Lights (Saint Liam - Miss Golden Circle by Crafty Prospector) was 7-1. Themanintheglass (Malibu Moon - Valid Tenet by Valid Appeal) looked good in the paddock, and Afleet Express was on his toes. Brake Lights was acting up on the track. The race did not begin well for Afleet Express. He was off awkwardly and then had to check hard. He was a good 10 lengths behind the pacesetters early. Wicked Tune (Concorde's Tune - Pretty Wicked by The Wicked North) made the lead. Known Gambler (Tapit - Known Feminist by Known Fact) applied some early pressure, but he soon retreated. More persistent pursuit came from Themanintheglass and Brake Lights, who stuck with Wicked Tune into the stretch. New challenges came from Pow Wow and Afleet Express. They moved as a team for awhile, but Afleet Express soon left Pow Wow behind. He cruised to the lead on the outside, pulling away to a very easy win. He is winner number 20 for Afleet Alex. Brake Lights lugged in late and finished 5th. Watch the Replay.
