She's Never Quicker

The only scratch was AE Pretty B (Matty G - Pretty City by Carson City). Grosse Pointe Anne (Silver Deputy - Playa Maya by Arch) took the early money, but Inner Groove (Rock Hard Ten - Secret Ballad by Saint Ballado) was favored at post time. In This Life (Ghostzapper - Spy Novel by Broad Brush) went off at 7-1. In This Life was adding blinkers for this race, and looked good in the paddock. Chipanaputt (Unbridled's Song - Regal Miss Copelan by Copelan) was given a strong warm-up. Inner Groove acted up during the load. Seville (Tiznow - Ennui by Gone West), Elarose (Storm Cat - Take Charge Lady by Dehere), and Never Quicker (Hennessy - Tipsy Girl by Raise a Cup) fought for the early lead. In This Life was at the back, and Inner Groove was about mid-pack. Never Quicker shook free from Seville and Elarose, putting distance between herself and the rest. Inner Groove was the closest pursuer. Never Quicker continued to lead and got the win, as Alluring Power (Milwaukee Brew - Appealing Power by Valid Appeal) closed well late to take second away from Inner Groove. In This Life made up ground after breaking slowly, and ended up 5th. Watch the Replay.

Holy Motion Runs Past Cameron

Holy Motion (Holy Bull - Tuft of Flowers by Two Punch) was favored early, but Victoria's Thyme (Stephen Got Even - Victoria Ridge by Vice Regent) got the nod at post time. Actually, the betting was pretty even in this one, ranging from 7-5 to almost 11-1. Cameron (Rock Hard Ten - Chasseresse by Jade Hunter) was 10-1. Sweep the Road (Calkins Road - Sweep the Deck by Golden Gear) acted up a bit in the post parade. It'smyburtday (Stormy Atlantic - Talega by Devil's Bag) looked good warming up. Cameron was off slowly. Holy Motion went to the lead, with Lady Snake (Speightstown - Castlebrook by Montbrook) pursuing. Lady Snake began retreating in the stretch. Holy Motion was still leading, but Cameron was making a nice move on the outside. Holy Motion re-broke and pulled away from the rest, winning by better than 8 lengths. Musical Gift (Songandaprayer - Beloved by All by Rubiano) was along for second, and It'smyburtday (Stormy Atlantic - Talega by Devil's Bag) made up ground to finish 3rd. Cameron flattened out some after her move, finishing 4th. Watch the Replay.

What's New? A Maiden Victory

Best Man in Town (Captain Countdown - Pyrite Honor by Great Above) was scratched. Tiz Brian (Tiznow - Reverence by West by West) was the slight favorite, but What's New (Dixie Union - Hidden Assets by Mt. Livermore) took a lot of money as well. Hazards of Love (Saint Liam - Spring Rush by Wild Rush) was 4-1 and looked good in the paddock. Berberis (Southern Image - Miss Puzzle (AUS) by Citidancer (IRE)) was acting up in the post parade a bit. Numen Lumen (Smart Strike - Unifier by Deputy Minister) looked good on the track. Delong Road (Storm Cat - Tates Creek by Rahy) showed off his Storm Cat genes, dumping his rider at the load. The break was pretty fair, apart from Berberis, who was off a beat slow. What's New and Delong Road dueled early. Larry's Vision (Pollard's Vision - Beg Borrow n Steal by Sham) was in a good spot in third. Hazards of Love was near the back. There was lots of greeness on display. What's New pulled away from Delong Road and went on to win by 2. One of the few running late was Berberis, who was last at the break. Delong Road hung in well for third, he should last longer next time. Hazards of Love ended up passing some to finish 6th. Watch the Replay.

Mames' Game is Winning

Ms. Lavender Blue (Cahill Road - Born to Be Blue by Lasting Value) was scratched. Brookieoftheyear (Purge - Petite Charme by Silver Charm) was the even-money choice. Saint Spirit (Saint Liam - Unbridled Spirit by Unbridled's Song) was 43-1. Miss K. O. (Two Punch - Real Concern by Concern) balked at the load. Mames' Game (Chapel Royal - Current Encounter by Little Current) broke on top, with Snowbound Gina (Snowbound - Missionary Kid by Robin des Pins) chasing. Saint Spirit was in third early. She tried to bolt on the turn and the race was over for her then. However, it was good to see that she finished the race and was next to the rail, as she passed the wire. Up front, Mames' Game continued to lead. Gorgeous Goomah (Maria's Mon - Takealookatmenow by Cryptoclearance) was chasing, but Mames' Game moved farther and farther ahead, winning by 6 3/4 lengths.
