Cravin Caden (Saint Liam - Lacie Girl by Editor's Note) was scratched, as well as Mine N Gems (Mineshaft - Flager (ARG) by Southern Halo), Bea of the Tiger (Roar of the Tiger - Bea D J by D. J. Cat), First Dude (Stephen Got Even - Run Sarah Run by Smart Strike), and Ready to Dazzle (More Than Ready - Eye Dazzler by Boundary). Argentarii (Roman Ruler - Eightyfivebroadst by Unbridled's Song) got in off of the AE list. He looked good in the paddock. Beau Choix (Elusive Quality - Belle Cherie by Belong to Me) received the early bettor attention, but Argentarii was favored when they went into the gate. Best Actor (Rock Hard Ten - Dance for Dixie by Unaccounted For) was 4-1, and Westshore (Saint Liam - Alexi Dancer by A. P. Indy) was 7.5-1. Chasing Ted (Lion Heart - Simply Runaway by Runaway Groom) warmed up strong. Best Actor looked good as post time approached. Chasing Ted, Magic Lion (Lion Heart - Magic Melody by Gulch), and Argentarii were battling early, with Best Actor not far off. Chasing Ted pulled free of the others, but Best Actor was in close pursuit. As they entered the stretch, Best Actor moved even with Chasing Ted, and then went on by. He ended up winning by 4 lengths over Chasing Ted. Tiz Mine (Tiznow - Our Majestic Cat by Tabasco Cat) closed some late for the third spot. Westshore saved ground throughout, but tired some late, finishing 7th. Best Actor's performance earned him a mention on Steve Haskin's Kentucky Derby Trail: Opening Act. Watch the Replay.

Itsagiantcauseway Prooves Best

The turf was firm, and the only scratches were the AEs, including Karen Sue's Kitten (Kitten's Joy - Citiscape by Citidancer). Performing (Smart Strike - Scorching by Dynaformer) was favored, but Simply Impressive (Adcat - Nadasha by Stack) received plenty of attention as well. Electric Feel (Afleet Alex - Cape North by Capote) was close to 60-1, but she made a good impression as they headed to the track. Mordecai Jones (Include - Trip Around Heaven by Halo) looked good in the post parade. Itsagiantcauseway (Giant's Causeway - Countervail by Seeking the Gold) acted up at the load. They got her in the gate, and she went right on through. She never got free, and was loaded again. A Glass of Water (Value Plus - Silk Sails by Ocean Crest) made the early lead, with Simply Impressive, Snuggs and Kisses (Soto - With a Splash by Baron O'Dublin), and Performing up close. Electric Feel was off slowly. A Glass of Water began to fade in the stretch. It didn't help that she hit the rail. Simply Impressive and Performing battled for the late lead, but they were both overtaken by Itsagiantcauseway, who came flying to get the victory. Electric Feel never got going after her start, trailing the whole way round. Watch the Replay.
