Kera's Conquers the WEBN

The only scratch was AE Outclass (Maria's Mon - Should Excell by Dixieland Band). Rockin' Rockstar (Congaree - Ghost Prayer by Silver Ghost) took the early money, but Lucky Chuck (Evansville Slew - Timely Rhythm by Count the Time) was favored at post time. Both Kera's Kitten (Kitten's Joy - Mrs. K. by Dixieland Band) and Patti's Kitten (Kitten's Joy - Hillary Step by Chimes Band) went off at close to 6-1. Kera's Kitten looked good in the post parade. In contrast to his stumble in the Turfway Prevue Stakes, this time Kera's Kitten got out clean and went right to the lead. Patti's Kitten was near the back. Slowest of all was early favorite Rockin' Rockstar, who was off awkwardly and never got involved. Kera's Kitten continued to show the way with Lucky Chuck taking the second spot. Gaining late was Slewzoom (Slew City Slew - Just Zooming by Schembechler), who ran into second, but Kera's Kitten was home free. The official margin was 2 1/2 lengths. Patti's Kitten put in a bit of a late run to finish 6th. Kera's Kitten now has 3 wins in 5 starts, with earnings of $104,585. His victories include the Skyy El Joven Stakes on the turf. He also went gate-to-wire in that one. Watch the Replay. Read more about the WEBN here.

General Maximus Too Fleet for the Express

Afleet Express (Afleet Alex - Expanse by Distant View) was the big favorite, although General Maximus (Freud - Modern Toughness by Good and Tough) was also well-received at the windows. Afleet Express looked good on the track. General Maximus broke on top, Afleet Express was off slowly. General Maximus continued to lead, with longshot Family Holiday (Harlan's Holiday - Balancoire by Diesis (GB)) the nearest pursuer. Afleet Express got into gear and quickly moved into third. But, although Afleet Express passed Family Holiday, he was unable to overtake pacesetter General Maximus. General Maximus was never threatened in his 1 3/4 length victory. Afleet Express obviously has plenty of talent, but still looks pretty green out there. Watch the Replay.

What a horse! Afleet Express didn't have a great start but that didn't stop him from kicking in that speed. He knows exactly what he has to do and you can tell he likes to compete. The only "green" thing about Afleet Express is all the money he is going to bring to his owners. Hop on the Afleet Express everyone.

Loved Afleet Express' performance overcame some adversity at the start and ran a huge second place effort. He's a big, beautiful horse with what seems a world of talent. He's the real deal!
