Island Soul Too Much for Tenplus

As predicted, this one came off of the turf, and was run on the fast main track. Saintly Tale (Tale of the Cat - Saint Ray by Saint Ballado), Timely Pursuit (Purge - Tradition of Time by Half Term), and Bascom Hall (Mizzen Mast - Victorian Woman by Jeblar) were scratched. MTO Island Soul (Perfect Soul (IRE) - Copper Belle by Carson City) got to run, and was made the favorite. Tenplus (Rock Hard Ten - One Beautiful Lady by Broad Brush) went off close to 6-1. Twilight Bay (Purge - Tiz Twilight by Tiznow) had some pep, Tenplus looked ready, and Stand (Pulpit - Thread by Topsider) was on his toes. Tenplus had good early speed, but Guilty Plea (Cat Thief - Custom Made by Hadif) took command. Tenplus and Fan Favorite (Orchard Park - Star Jolie by John Alden) were sticking close. Tenplus began to gain on Guilty Plea, but Island Soul was coming. Island Soul hit the lead and kept going, winning by 4. Tenplus took second from Guilty Plea. Street Success Over the Alexes

The track was fast and there were no scratches. Officer Big Red (Officer - Shocktics by Tactical Advantage) and Not for Dixieland (Not For Love - Dixie Flag by Dixieland Band) vied for favoritism, with Not for Dixieland getting the nod at post time. Rewarding a Vow to Wager

There were no scratches and the Polytrack was fast as usual. Starred (Leroidesanimaux (BRZ) - Five Gold Stars by Mining) was getting all of the bettors attention, going off less than even money. I Am Indy (Saint Liam - Teenage Temper by A. P. Indy) was 6-1. Vow to Wager (Broken Vow - Wage a Penny by Valid Wager) was feisty in the paddock. Plan Ahead (Limehouse - Emmy Lou by Deputy Minister) was looking good. Starred and Vow to Wager battled early. I Am Indy stumbled at that start, and was never much involved after that, finishing 9th (last). Up front, Starred and Vow to Wager continued to duel. Vow to Wager pulled free in the stretch, and that was end of story. He won by better than 5. Starred held second, and Plan Ahead was along in third. Watch the Replay.

Congratulations, Joe. Nice to see loyalty rewarded. It's good to stick with those young horses, sometimes they just need a little time to figure things out.
