Finding Crimson Glory

The turf was rated good, Bail Out Kitten (Kitten's Joy - Bail Out Becky by Red Ransom) was scratched, along with MTOs Go for Jan (Distorted Humor - Glimmer by Deputy Minister) and Golden Guilder (Aptitude - Ruby Rubles by Scarlet Ibis), and AE Rosalinda (Awesome Again - Gentle Ridge by Bertrando). Rosalinda is entered in race 7 at Gulfstream Park on February 5 (see below). AE Unison (Unbridled's Song - Melody Maiden by Saint Ballado) drew into the race. Remark (Distorted Humor - Krisada by Kris S.) was favored. Crimson Glory (Ghostzapper - Buy the Sport by Devil's Bag) was ignored at the windows early, but ended up a respectable 5-1. Ready to Win (More Than Ready - Conceited Miss by Crafty Prospector) was feisty in the paddock, Amirahy (Rahy - So Sultry by Storm Boot) made a favorable impression. Creole Princess (Bernstein - Appealing Line by Line In The Sand) was a late scratch, as she got loose on the track. Crimson Glory looked eager out on the track. She outbroke the field and quickly took the lead. Backlit Sky (Sky Mesa - Backfield N Motion by All Gone) and Amirahy were in pursuit. Crimson Glory continued to lead into the stretch. Amirahy got by Backlit Sky, but she couldn't catch Crimson Glory. Although Crimson Glory had been entered several times on the turf, this was the first time she actually got to run on the grass and she made it count. Watch the Replay.

Dixie Nite Out Outshines It's the Big Cat

Centripital (Wheelaway - Take Bazzie Out by Take Me Out) was the only scratch, the track was fast. The filly Money's Sweet (Hook and Ladder - For Money by Not For Love) took all the early money, but Dixie Nite Out (Dixie Union - Ladies Night In by Peteski) was the even-money choice at post time. It's the Big Cat (Kitten's Joy - Sweeping Cat by End Sweep) was 6-1. Money's Sweet looked good in the paddock, I also liked the appearance of Spicy Steve (Stephen Got Even - Spicy Cocktail by Slew Gin Fizz). Prince Dylan (Read the Footnotes - Gebb's Princess by Missionary Ridge (GB)) acted up at the load. It's the Big Cat (Kitten's Joy - Sweeping Cat by End Sweep) went to the lead, but Spicy Steve was right with him. These two dueled into the stretch. Dixie Nite Out was in tight for awhile, but once he got free, he shot by the pacesetters to get the victory. Spicy Steve got the better of It's the Big Cat and took second, while It's the Big Cat was third. However, It's the Big Cat didn't fade as much as he did in his last couple starts, so that's a good sign. Watch the Replay.
