News and Notes

Feels like a million years since I wrote a blog post. It hasn't been that long, but I did have a couple of days off. The big news during that period was Wilburn (colt; Bernardini - Moonlight Sonata by Carson City), who starred at the Keeneland sale of 2-year-olds in training, selling for $625,000. He was purchased by Jess Jackson's Stonestreet Stables. Read more about Wilburn here.

Three Maiden Watch 3-year-olds have been entered in Kentucky Derby preps this weekend: Stately Victor (colt; Ghostzapper - Collect the Cash by Dynaformer) in the Blue Grass Stakes at Keeneland, and Dublin (colt; Afleet Alex - Classy Mirage by Storm Bird) and New Madrid (colt; Rock Hard Ten - Back to Earth by Theatrical (IRE)) in the Arkansas Derby at Oaklawn Park. Grade I winner Dublin has plenty of graded earnings, but the other two need some earnings if the Derby is a possibility.

Since we don't have any two-year-olds running tomorrow, I'll look at the two-year-old race scheduled for Keeneland. Among the entries is the first runner for Silver Train. I'll also catch up on results for the three-year-olds and workouts for the two-year-olds.
