It's Wandaful Wandaful Over Fantasma

Strictly (Fusaichi Pegasus - Dancing (GB) by Spectrum (IRE)) was scratched. Perfect Shirl (Perfect Soul (IRE) - Lady Shirl by That's a Nice), half sister to Shakespeare, was favored. Fantasma (Ghostzapper - Cindy's Hero by Sea Hero) went off at almost 8-1. Pearly Blue (Empire Maker - Western Ransom by Red Ransom) looked good as they headed to the track. Fantasma was a little anxious in the post parade. Sheryl's Melody (More Than Ready - Gera by Capote) looked ready, and Moneigh (Maria's Mon - Annatoga by Concorde's Tune) also made a positive impression. Fantasma was at the back early, having hopped at the start. Wandaful Wandaful (Hero's Tribute - Debby Dot Com by Caller I. D.) went for the lead. She had plenty of company, including Perfect Shirl and Harrow Hill (Distant View - Poetic by Nureyev). Perfect Shirl moved even with Wandaful Wandaful after 6 furlongs, but Wandaful Wandaful spurted clear. Making up good ground late was Moneigh, who dented the lead a little. Also closing were Charlie Girl (Indian Charlie - Unbridled Secret by Unbridled's Song) and Fantasma. No one could catch Wandaful Wandaful, but it was good debuting 4th-place finish for Fantasma.        I saw Bluegrass Cat after his 2nd place finish in the Tampa Bay Derby ! As they were taking him back to the receiving barn he looked like a million dollars  ! Not a bit of sweat ! He looked like he was posing ! I think he'll make an excellent sire !

Too bad Zori's Eye couldn't relax and get covered up. Maybe next time.

Does anyone know what's going on with Octogarian? Has she run since the Sorrento last year?
