Latika has all the Trix

Cat N Caboodle (Tale of the Cat - Hedge Ratio by Unbridled) was scratched. The public had trouble deciding between Latika (Wiseman's Ferry - Lady Chip by Dixie Union) and Pink Pallet (Include - Art Student by El Prado (IRE)), finally settling on Latika. Trix Are for Katz (Bluegrass Cat - Every Trick by Grand Slam) was 7-2. My Graduate (Lion Hearted - R. Ess V. P. by Press Card) was showing some spunk as they moved to the track, once there she got a nice warmup. Trix Are for Katz was swishing her tail in circles. Flies or nerves? I couldn't fault the favorites on looks. Trix Are for Katz was off slowly, but she soon picked it up. Latika broke on top and was soon open lengths in front. She was absolutely cruising on the front, and the jockey was barely moving. Pink Pallet made a nice move late up the rail to pick up the place, but there was no catching Latika. The winning margin was 7 lengths. I'm not sure what she beat, but she certainly looked good doing it. Trix Are for Katz outfought Ocala Barbie (Songandaprayer - Devilish Amour by Devil His Due) for third. Watch the Replay.

Diane's Grey Dawn Stands in Judgement

Songofthecity (Songandaprayer - Citiview by Citidancer) and Carcava's Hunt (Dove Hunt - Carcava by Gulch) were scratched, leaving a field of 5. Diane's Grey Dawn (Pomeroy - A Vision in Gray by Two Punch) was favored, but Launch Light Lady (Bright Launch - Velva by Gold Legend) received plenty of attention from the bettors as well. Judge This (Rockport Harbor - Selina Kyle by Storm Cat) was 6-1. She looked good in the paddock, and on the track. Actually, they all looked pretty good. Diane's Grey Dawn was on her toes from the time she got on the track, until they went into the gate. Launch Light Lady looked good as well. Diane's Grey Dawn broke on top, but Judge This wasn't far behind her. The continued in this order for a time, but Diane's Grey Dawn began to pull away in the stretch, as Judge This tired. Launch Light Lady came rolling late to make a race of it, but she ran out of real estate. Judge This kept third. Diane's Grey Dawn is winner number three for Pomeroy. Watch the Replay.
