He Blue Right By

There were no scratches. The track was upgraded to good just before this race. Blue Right By (Bluegrass Cat - Shades of Grace by Seeking the Gold) and his entrymate Stormy the Cat (Storm Cat - Unrestrained by Unbridled) were favored. Stormy the Cat was looking good as they left the paddock. Big Mack Daddy (Johannesburg - Hooked On Niners by Mr. Greeley) had some bounce in his step. Blue Right By looked ready. Blue Right By broke well, and went right to the lead, along with Great Bam (Mutakddim - Colegiada (ARG) by Southern Halo). Stormy the Cat was briefly in third, but Thanks to Ron (Sharp Humor - Shiroyama by Seattle Slew) soon took over that position. Blue Right By moved even on the turn, and then went on by. He kept running for a 2 1/2 length victory. Saturday Dance (Roman Ruler - Sweetstorm Amy by Lemon Drop Kid) ran well late to finish second, and Thanks to Ron held third. Blue Right By is winner number 6 for Bluegrass Cat. Watch the Replay.

Wild About Sonny Rocks the Star

The two fillies with experience: Sopchoppy (Drewman - Nabatina by Time for a Change) and Sleepless Dixie (Dixie Union - Dream About by Cherokee Run), were scratched. Sleepless Dixie's entrymate, Wild About Sonny (Officer - Easy Action by Crafty Prospector), did run. The track was fast. Overseas Market (Stormy Atlantic - Early Glow by Easy Goer), the $220,000 2-year-old, was favored. Rockport Star (Rockport Harbor - Christmas Lights by Citidancer) was 13-1. She was bouncing in the paddock. Wild About Sonny acted up a tad in the post parade, but overall they were a nice looking bunch of fillies. Backhanded Jane (Badge of Silver - Tradition of Time by Half Term) and Overseas Market battled for the early lead. Rockport Star and Wild About Sonny were watching the action in third and fourth. Wild About Sonny came rolling on the outside. Backhanded Jane backed off, but Overseas Market continued to fight. Wild About Sonny and Overseas Market fought to the wire, with Wild About Sonny getting his neck in front for the victory. Backhanded Jane was back in third, and Rockport Star held fourth. Prince is Danger to Longer Terms Doug

There were no scratches in this big field, and the track was fast. Andersonstate (Songandaprayer - Affairs of State by Deputy Minister) took the early money, but Vee's Accolade (Proud Accolade - Bridget of Eire by Lord Carson) was favored at post time. He definitely caught my eye. Longer Terms Doug (Rockport Harbor - Willa Joe (IRE) by El Gran Senor) was almost 27-1. Casino Mick (Too Much Bling - Casino Bound by Langfuhr) is a handsome gray, and Prince of Danger (Forest Danger - Princess Tish by Eltish) looked interesting in the post parade. Laila's Choice (Werblin - Fidget by French Deputy) balked at the load, and Longer Terms Doug hesitated. Prince of Danger went in, came back out, and went in again. There was a big scramble for the lead, with Prince of Danger emerging on top. Longer Terms Doug was far away from the battle up front, 4 lengths behind the rest of the field. Rough 'n Royal (Pomeroy - Good Heavens by Holy Bull) pursued Prince of Danger early, but Prince of Danger spurted away from him. Vee's Accolade and Casino Mick made more sustained bids, but Prince of Danger was able to hold them off for the win. Getting into the picture late was Longer Terms Doug, who ended up fourth after trailing for most of the race. Watch the Replay.

Mis Vizcaya Takes the Watertown Road

War Prospector (War Front - Latori by Unaccounted For) was scratched. The track was fast. A E Phi Sensation (Johannesburg - First Lady Blue by A. P. Indy) and Mis Vizcaya (Successful Appeal - Look for Good by Unbridled's Song) battled for favoritism, with Mis Vizcaya winning that one. They had faced each other last time out, with A E Phi Sensation finishing second, but Mis Vizcaya lost her jockey in that race. Watertown Road (Bellamy Road - Earthly Angel by Crafty Prospector) was 7-1. Par Lady (Borrego - Cape Town Lass by Horse Chestnut (SAF)) looked good in the paddock, and Mis Vizcaya made a good impression warming up. The start was pretty fair. Mis Vizcaya went for the lead, and Watertown Road went after her. She tired after an eighth, and A E Phi Sensation took up the chase. But, there was no catching Mis Vizcaya, who kept moving farther in front. The winning margin was 4 3/4 lengths. Moving into second was Par Lady. Another good finish for Par Lady, who continues to be ignored at the windows (17-1). Watertown Road tired to fifth, but it wasn't a bad debut for her, having shown speed early. Watch the Replay.

I was watching the races on Sunday June 20 on cable and I believe it was the 10th race at Monmouth (or maybe it was the 10th somewhere else) but a horse went down going into the first turn and neither horse or rider got up, and there was no mention of who went down, who was hurt...  Did anybody see it?
