News and Notes

Let's Get Rockin (Rockport Harbor - Impolite by Two Punch) was scratched from the 4th at Woodbine. The winner was favorite Controlled Blast (Dayjur - Dynamite Dancer by Lite the Fuse), who was never far off and then took command at the top of the stretch. She pulled away for a 4 3/4 length victory. Watch the Replay.

May Day Rose (Rockport Harbor - May Day Bluff by Pine Bluff) dumped her rider in the post parade of race 4 at Del Mar and took off running. She was a late scratch. Hey Maria (Maria's Mon - Majority Whip by Gulch) went to the lead, but was overtaken by huge favorite Indian Gracey (Indian Ocean - Miz Betty Grace by Matty G). But, Tell a Kelly (Tapit - Evrobi by Tabasco Cat) ran her down and won by 2 1/2 lengths. Watch the Replay.

There were no scratches and the track was fast. Position Limit (Bellamy Road - Payable On Demand by Out of Place) was favored. Also getting attention at the windows was Alienation (Rock Hard Ten - Alienated by Gone West). Position Limit looked the part warming up. Coax Liberty (Successful Appeal - Chelsie's House by Housebuster) caught my eye. Silvislip (Forestry - Ifyouprefersilver by Silver Deputy) was a little reluctant to load. Nina Fever (Borrego - Impact Now by Major Impact) stumbled badly at the start and Tristanme (Bwana Charlie - Forever Full by Full Out) broke awkwardly. Miss Sarah Brown (Mass Media - Peregrine Dove by Regal Search) went to the lead, pressed by Alienation. Position Limit settled in fourth. Miss Sarah Brown and Alienation set some ambitious fractions up front: :21.72, :45.07, and separated themselves from the rest of the field. Alienation took the lead, as Miss Sarah Brown weakened, but Position Limit was coming. She moved on the outside, catching Alienation and pulling away. The winning margin was 5 lengths, and she looked good doing it. Position Limit now moves to the head of the 2-year-old filly division. It looks like the Frizette is next, and then the Breeders' Cup. Position Limit is the second stakes winner for Bellamy Road. Watch the Replay. Read more about the Adirondack here.
