Dancing By Biggin Mike

There were no scratches and the track was fast. Dance With Santana (Dance Master - Clear Fork Valley by King of Kings (IRE)), who had done his previous running at Churchill Downs, was favored. The entry of Biggin Mike (Henny Hughes - Be Happy My Love by Formal Gold) and Saycheese Hercules (Tale of the Cat - Hidden Curves by Mt. Livermore) went off at 4-1. Debuter Mongol Boy (Pleasant Tap - Biding Time by Seeking the Gold) looked good in the paddock, but acted up a bit on the track. Biggin Mike warmed up nicely. Jump Boots (Medallist - Her Highness by Foxhound) was a little jumpy. Dance With Santana outbroke the field, and Jump Boots set after him. Biggin Mike had a couple beat early. In no time, Dance With Santana began to pull away from Jump Boots. He hit the wire 8 lengths in front. Jump Boots held second, and Biggin Mike did some running late to finish 3rd.

The Lucky Winner

All eight ran and the track was fast. Actin Lucky (Aldebaran - Yours Truly by Belong to Me) took the early money, but Watertown Road (Bellamy Road - Earthly Angel by Crafty Prospector) was favored at post time. First-timer Sis Draper (Chapel Royal - Mason Crest by Grand Slam) was acting up in the paddock. Actin Lucky caught my eye, but Watertown Road looked good as well. Honest Gal (Yes It's True - Gallelujah by Honour and Glory) acted up in the gate, and was off slowly. Actin Lucky went to the lead, but she had company. Sis Draper, Grand Gracie (Limehouse - Affair With Molly by Black Tie Affair (IRE)), Distortedredhead (Alke - Fourtheboys by Distorted Humor), and Watertown Road were all involved. Things stayed close for awhile, but then Actin Lucky pulled away from the gang. Grand Gracie made up some ground late, but she was a length behind Actin Lucky at the finish. Watertown Road was moving well at the end to pick up the show spot. I'd like to see her go farther. Watch the Replay.
