Cheeky Mama Takes Them Home

The track was fast, and Hunt for Colleen (Exchange Rate - Silent Beauty by Gone West) was scratched. Cheeky Mama (Da Stoops - Coogee Coo by Delineator) was favored, Riona (Bluegrass Cat - Sheila's Prospect by Not For Love) was 16-1. Cheeky Mama went to the lead, with In Her Hey Day (Golden Missile - Freeway Fun by Awesome Again) in pursuit. Private Escort (Dance With Ravens - Im No Cynic by Two Punch) stumbled at the start, but was pushed along to get involved. Riona trailed the field. Cheeky Mama built up a clear lead in the stretch. Bothered at the start, and slow to get started, Status Pending (Tale of the Cat - Party Chatter by Pleasant Colony) joined the running late. But Cheeky Mama was better than a length in front at the wire. Riona never really going going, finishing 7th (last). Cheeky Mama is the 4th winner for Da Stoops. Watch the Replay.

Silent Joy Makes Some Noise

The turf was rated good. The only scratches were the MTOs. Drink of the Day (Artie Schiller - Ms. Isadora by Miswaki) was the early favorite, but Orangeblackandgold (Rock Hard Ten - Campagnarde (ARG) by Oak Dancer (GB)) was the slight choice at post time. She was a little anxious in the paddock. Blueveau (Bluegrass Cat - Slewveau by Slew o' Gold) and Drumette (Henny Hughes - Endless Parade by Williamstown) were both 8-1. Silent Joy (Kitten's Joy - Silent Emotion by Ghazi) was on her toes, as they headed to the track. Rochitta (Arch - Lady Ilsley by Trempolino) was catching my eye. Blueveau looked good on the track. Drumette went to the lead, with Orangeblackandgold sent after her. High Velocity (Dynaformer - High Speed Access by Kingmambo) was chasing the top pair. Drumette and Orangeblackandgold continued 1-2 into the stretch, exchanging bumps. Orangeblackandgold eased to the lead, but she had no time to relax, as Silent Joy was coming. She got up in the final strides to win by a head. There was a stewards inquiry into the bumping between Drumette and Orangeblackandgold, but no change was made. Watch the Replay.

Gold for Harlan's Ruby

The turf was good, MTO Empress of Gold (Empire Maker - Circle of Gold by Seeking the Gold) was scratched, as well as Excited (Giant's Causeway - Path of Thunder by Thunder Gulch). This allowed AE Mayday Maria (Maria's Mon - Boston Express by Boston Harbor) to get into the race, and she was favored. She looked good in the paddock. Wear Red (Henny Hughes - Aldebaran Light by Seattle Slew) was 15-1. Grand Style (Giant's Causeway - Dancethruthestorm by Thunder Gulch) looked a little on edge. Triune (E Dubai - Triple Act by Theatrical (IRE)) was feisty on the track. Harlan's Ruby (Harlan's Holiday - Smiling Eyes by Saint Ballado) got a shove into the gate. Too Clever by Half (With Distinction - Clever Moranda by Clever Trick) went for the lead, with Triune pressing. Mayday Maria watched this duel in third. Too Clever by Half and Triune continued to duel, but Harlan's Ruby was looking good on the outside. She rolled on by, to get the victory by 2 lengths. Triune was ultra-game in defeat, never getting a break the entire race. Mount Holiday made up a lot of ground late to take third at 65-1. Wear Red was bumped at the start, and flattened out late, finishing 9th. There was a stewards inquiry and a claim of foul, but no changes were made. Watch the Replay.

Kindersley ran very well - she was WAY back and made a huge run to get 2nd.

LOVE Theysken's Theory; would kill for Bernardini to get his first SW here

Kindersly looks good, just give her some extra distance.  As for Theysken's Theory, i have been anxiously awaiting her return after that dominating maiden win.  Funny that she will be facing Date with Destiny and Cape Dollar, two horses that fellow bernardini progeny, Zanazzi, finished second too.

They're expecting soft going.Given Theysken's Theory's breeding,I think she's the least likely to enjoy soft ground.
