Henny's Hurricane Blows On By

Thatagirl (Henny Hughes - Miss Bridget Jones by Peaks and Valleys) was scratched, as well as Ready and Good (More Than Ready - Goodies Galore by Forest Wildcat), the track was fast. Forest Whip (Forestry - Swigert by Fusaichi Pegasus) was favored. Also getting play was Nolita (Strong Contender - Halo Miss America by Jolie's Halo), while Henny's Hurricane (Henny Hughes - Amarillo by Crafty Prospector) was almost 7-1. Flying Train (Empire Maker - Flying Glitter by Glitterman) looked good in the paddock, and Henny's Hurricane made a favorable impression as they headed to the track. Nolita outbroke the field, the rest were in a fairly tight bunch. Henny's Hurricane secured a good spot on the outside. Flying Train chased Nolita for a time, but then began to tire. Nolita seemed home free, but her stride began to shorten. Henny's Hurricane was ready to take advantage, and swept to the lead, winning by 2 1/2 lengths. Nolita was another 6 1/2 lengths in front of Hurricane Barb. This race was marred by the collapse of Forest Whip, who suffered an apparent heart attack. Her jockey, Kent Desormeaux, fell hard and was taken to the hospital. Henny's Hurricane is the 6th winner for Henny Hughes. Watch the Replay.

No Concern

Forty Paces (Stroll - Excused by Forty Niner) was scratched, leaving 9 to run. Intentional (Chapel Royal - Honest Intentions by Devil's Bag) and Dearly Concerned (With Distinction - Concern Nacca by Concern) vied for favoritism, with Dearly Concerned winning that battle. Huntington Harbour (Rockport Harbor - Rare Heat by Rare Performer) was 12-1, but she looked good heading to the track. Ricketyracketyruss (Borrego - Our Dreamer by Storm Cat) was a little riled up in the post parade. Intentional warmed up nicely. Hanakkuh (Songandaprayer - Alice White by Thunder Gulch) led the way early on, with Intentional pressing. Dearly Concerned was just off these. Huntington Harbour was mid-pack in the early stages. Hanakkuh and Intentional were 1-2 into the stretch, but Hanakkuh began to weaken. Surging late was Dearly Concerned, who swept by Intentional for the win. Intentional did hold second by a nose over Canadian Pride (Canadian Frontier - Down the Street by Ghazi), who was another nose in front of Ricketyracketyruss. Huntington Harbour finished 5th. Dearly Concerned is the 10th winner for With Distinction. Watch the Replay.
