Two-Year-Old Result

An Inside Dealer

The turf was soft. Countess Vindi (Vindication - Debit Account by Mr. Prospector), Pig Sooie (Belong to Me - Countessa by Lord At War (ARG)), and Ancient Eyes (Full Mandate - Geriano by Sefapiano) were scratched, as well as AE entrant Accelero (Dynaformer - Spanked by Deputy Minister) and MTO entrant Courtesy Call (Fusaichi Pegasus - Mary by Cat Thief). Inside Deal (More Than Ready - No Mud On Me by Great Above) was favored, Alluring Squall (Bernardini - Appealing Storm by Valid Appeal) was 8-1. Point Your Finger (Royal Academy - No Beans by Unreal Zeal) made a decent appearance in the paddock, and Alluring Squall looked very nice as they headed to the track. Point Your Finger was a little on edge in the post parade, trying to head-butt the pony. Princess Aragorn (Aragorn (IRE) - Kat Princess by El Prado (IRE)) warmed up nicely. Point Your Fingers was a little reluctant at the load. Holy Heavens (Holy Bull - Heavens Passport by Awesome Again) reached for the sky, and jockey Florent Geroux wisely slid off. The start was good. Inside Deal immediately went for the lead. Point Your Finger and Juliet Tango (Whywhywhy - Roberto's Hope by Roberto) tried to stick with her, but Inside Deal was soon 5 lengths in front. Inside Deal continued on top, with Point Your Finger the nearest pursuer. However, both Cryptocandiac (Candy Ride (ARG) - Citi Pearl by Citidancer) and Alluring Squall (Bernardini - Appealing Storm by Valid Appeal) were starting to get involved. They continued to gain on Inside Deal, as they neared the finish. At the wire, the three fillies were in a line. The photo showed Inside Deal a head in front of Cryptocandiac, who was a nose in front of Alluring Squall. Inside Deal took the win, but both Cryptocandiac and Alluring Squall showed a lot of heart in their debuts and look like serious runners. Yes, the time (1:42.11) wasn't anything to get excited about, but the fractions were slow and the turf was soft. Watch the Replay.
