Nuts and Bolts

This is mostly a nuts and bolts blog, updating results from September 26 through September 29. Note that I am not updating workouts for that period. I'll also preview a race for tomorrow. I am back in the office today, but will be back at WEG on Sunday and Monday.

News and Notes

Best wishes to Rachel Alexandra (filly, Medaglia d'Oro - Lotta Kim by Roar), as she embarks on her new career as a broodmare. Rachel Alexandra first appeared on this blog on May 5, 2008, recording her work on May 1. She worked 4 furlongs in :49.60 at Diamond D Ranch. Ironically, it was her Allowance victory on the Polytrack at Keeneland on October 17 that convinced me that she would win the Kentucky Oaks. However, I never would have predicted that she would be Horse of the Year at that point.
