The Kissing Bandit Strikes

De Thrill (Dehere - Kura by Strawberry Road (AUS)) was scratched, and the track was fast. Ready for More (More Than Ready - Zarrin by Maria's Mon), the only experienced entrant, was the odds-on choice. Kissing Bandit (Bluegrass Cat - Lofty Lizzy by Unbridled's Song) got some play at 3-1. Stormy Waters (Deputy Storm - Joe's Glory by Minstrel Glory) had some pep in the paddock. Kissing Bandit was looking good. Ready for More broke on top, but Kissing Bandit went right after him. Those two dueled for the first part of the race. Coming out of the turn, Kissing Bandit spurted away. He kept up the running, passing the line 2 1/4 lengths in front. Ready for More held off Golden Cross (Repent - Golden Vintage by Gold Fever) for second. Kissing Bandit is winner number 16 for Bluegrass Cat. Watch the Replay.

Royale Harbor Lands a Win

The track was good. Honor My Apitude (Aptitude - Honor Point by Honor Grades) was scratched, as well as the AEs Miss Pasco County (Gibson County - Kiss n'Tell by Notebook) and Clara's Grove (Forest Grove - Here's Your Hawk by Silver Hawk). Edie (Eddington - Wander Storm by Storm Bird) was favored at 2-1. Royale Harbor (Rockport Harbor - Michele Royale by Groovy) was 5-1. Juliet Tango (Whywhywhy - Roberto's Hope by Roberto) was an eye-catcher in the paddock. Aweeoneinthebunker (Johannesburg - Prevention by Aptitude) looked good in the post parade. Royale Harbor looked ready for action. There was bit of a scramble for the early lead, and Royale Harbor emerged with it. She was soon several lengths in front. Aweeoneinthebunker and Dakota Song (Songandaprayer - Lady Fairway by Dixie Union) were the nearest pursuers. Royale Harbor continued to lead into the stretch, but Lock N Lola (Pvt. Lynch - Fancy Locket by Woodman) was eating up some serious ground. It looked as though Lock N Lola would roll on by, but Royale Harbor showed some guts. She fought off the charge of Lock N Lola to capture the win by a neck. Lock N Lola was more than 7 in front of the rest, which were led by Cassiel (Mingun - Celestial by Sky Classic). Royale Harbor is the 9th winner for Rockport Harbor. Watch the Replay.

She is No Ordnary Cowgirl

The Real Mayo (Bernardini - Mayo On the Side by French Deputy) was scratched. Amime (Bernstein - Royal Sky by Royal Academy) was favored at 2-1. Both Bluegrass Dream (Bluegrass Cat - Dreambride by Unbridled's Song) and Riona (Bluegrass Cat - Sheila's Prospect by Not For Love) were ignored at the windows, 50-1 and 52-1. Anime was pretty animated in the paddock. Debuting Sweetoil (Broken Vow - Catcher by Storm Cat) made a favorable first impression. Bluegrass Dream, who was getting blinkers off, is a perky looking gray. Riona was on the muscle. Dean Avenue (Pure Prize - Queen in Waiting by Sea Salute) was acting up a bit in the warm up, and Holy Kuga (Orientate - Ed's Holy Cow by Bet Big) reared behind the gate, as she waited to load. Bluegrass Dream broke well and took the lead, with Sixtysix Rocketts (Tiznow - Sixty Rocketts by Belong to Me) pressing. Riona was at the back. Sixtysix Rocketts took a short lead. Bluegrass Dream hung around for awhile, but then began dropping back. Anime made her move and went to the front. But, No Ordnary Cowgirl (Pure Prize - Samoset by Air Forbes Won) was making a run. She hit the front, and pulled away for a 2 3/4 length victory. Anime held second over Mazucambera (Milwaukee Brew - Zip Zip Boom by Jeblar). Riona picked up a couple of places to finish 7th, and Bluegrass Dream finished 11th (last). Watch the Replay.
