Victoryat Last

The race was taken off of the turf, and run at a mile on the fast main track. All Quiet (Henny Hughes - Quiet Rumour by Alleged) was scratched, as well as Skips Prospect (Skip Away - Roses Prospect by Allen's Prospect), Kitten's Kitten (Kitten's Joy - La Cat by Mr. Greeley), Eur in the Mood (Eurosilver - Western Melody by West by West), August Gala (Broken Vow - Gala Regatta by Boston Harbor), She's My Image (Southern Image - Peakforthecash by Lord Avie), Nobu Baby (Woodman - Genuine Regret by Majestic Light), and Buttonfront (Golden Missile - The Name Was Gone by Gone for Real). Oatka Idas Rose (Closing Argument - Oatka Idas Destiny by A. P Jet) was favored. Miss Crabtree (Bluegrass Cat - Biogio's Beauty by Distorted Humor) was 24-1, and La Pazusa (Rockport Harbor - Azusa by Flying Paster) took some action at 4-1. Victoryat Last (Victory Gallop - Nicoise by Cape Town) made a favorable appearance, and La La Lazusa looked good as they headed to the track. Miss Crabtree looked a little skittish in the post parade. There Goes Molly (Chief Seattle - Hey Darla by Evansville Slew) got a strong warm-up. Lillehammer (North Light (IRE) - Desert Deed by Exploit) was off slowly, and La La Pazusa stumbled slightly. Victoryat Last went to the front, with Miss Crabtree and La La Pazusa in pursuit. The pace was slow. Miss Crabtree moved even with Victoryat Last, but couldn't sustain it. Favorite Oatka Idas Rose began moving. She was gaining on Victoryat Last, but the wire came in time to secure the victory for Victoryat Last. Miss Crabtree and La La Pazusa weakened to finish 5th and 6th. Watch the Replay.

Oh Carole Gets it Done

There were no scratches, as all 12 ran. Debuting Oh Carole (Unbridled's Song - Renowned Cat by Storm Cat) was favored, and Victoria's Wildcat (Bellamy Road - Flaming Mirage by Woodman) was 7-2. Oh Carole was tossing her head on the track. Joyce Jenkins (Afleet Alex - Seattle Bay by Opening Verse) caught my eye. Just One (Century City (IRE) - Sky Wing by Septieme Ciel), one of three with prior experience, balked at the load. Then, Sheza Song (Songandaprayer - Ruby's Reception by Rubiano), was a little reluctant. Just One came out running, but she was unable to clear, and relinquished the lead to Spoils (War Front - Conquistadordelite by Conquistador Cielo). Janetstickettocats (Storm Cat - Ticket to Houston by Houston) and Just One were pressing. Trusecret (Yes It's True - Rebridled Secret by Unbridled) made a move to enter the fray. Victoria's Wildcat was also getting involved. Spoils put some space between herself and the pack, but Oh Carole was coming. She rolled by on the outside, to win by 3/4 lengths. Spoils was well clear of third-place Caution Sign (Mr. Greeley - I'm a Caution by A. P. Indy), and Victoria's Wildcat took fourth. Watch the Replay.

Kela's Amy Has the Edge

The only scratches were the AEs, and the track was fast. The entry of Beno More (Champali - Beno by Miswaki) and My Forest (Teton Forest - Pandorasconnection by Connecticut) was favored. Jamin Justice (Rockport Harbor - Kiwi Sunshine by Java Gold) was 7-1. Kela's Amy (Kela - Amydar by Wild Again) had some energy in the paddock. I liked Ten Spot (Tenpins - Beauty Spots by Leo Castelli) in the post parade, and Jamin Justice looked good. Spend and Spree (Offlee Wild - Extra Change by Fiscal) took the early lead. Kela's Amy was up close, along with Keeneland Act (Grey Beard - Actress by Academy Award). Kela's Amy took control after a half. Keeneland Act was reluctant to change leads, but was sticking close. Ten Way Sheikh (Tenpins - Sheikh'nnotstirred by Sheikh Albadou (GB)) moved into contention, but Kela's Amy pulled away for a 2 length victory. Jamin Justice made up a couple of spots to finish 6th. Zazu Za Zoom

There were no scratches, as all 10 ran. Candid Ride (Candy Ride (ARG) - Flying Tigress by Mountain Cat) was favored, and Bluegrass Chatter (Bluegrass Cat - Chatter Chatter by Lost Soldier) was 14-1. I kind of liked the look of Miss Radiance (Yes It's True - Radiant Glow by War Chant), and debuting Honey's Prize (Pure Prize - Tejano Honey by Tejano Run) caught my eye. Bluegrass Chatter looked a little distracted on the track. Spectacular Sky (Sky Mesa - La Princesse Jolie by Boone's Mill) was off a little awkwardly. Gladiatrix (Invisible Ink - Repository by Ocala Slew) was on top. Royal Ancestry (Distorted Humor - Horns Gray by Pass the Tab) pressed for a time, and then dropped back. River's Mambo (Indian Charlie - Jersey Mambo by Kingmambo) took up the chase. Not far off was Zazu (Tapit - Rhumb Line by Mr. Greeley). She came wide on the turn, but used that momentum to slingshot into the lead. She kept on going, to win by 2 3/4 lengths. Nereid (Rock Hard Ten - Dowry by Belong to Me) made up a lot of ground late to pick up the second spot, and Honey's Prize was running as well to take third. Bluegrass Chatter was off slowly, but picked up some momentum late to finish 6th. Nereid looked really strong on the gallop out. Watch the Replay.
