A Valentine Delivery

There were no scratches, and the track was fast. Gin Cat (Roaring Fever - Fabulous Gin by Go for Gin) was favored. Rock N Cozy (Rockport Harbor - Sari by Cozzene) was 6-1, and Just to Think (Henny Hughes - Great Fun by Farma Way) was almost 7-1. Rock N Cozy seemed to have a confident air as she moved onto the track. Summer Flick (Afleet Alex - Key Definition by Gentlemen (ARG)) made a good impression. I thought that Just to Think may need to go longer. Anna Mae Jones (Cape Canaveral - Raf and Ready by Raffie's Majesty) fussed a bit at the load. Real Charmer (Forest Grove - Mum's the Word by Real Quiet) went to the front. Summer Flick and Just to Think took after her. Real Charmer began to retreat after a half. Summer Flick and Just to Think were still there, and Rock N Cozy moved into play. She went to the outside, and made the lead. However, she began to drift out, allowing Miss Valentine (Afleet Alex - Miss Yiayia by Gilded Time) to come up the rail and grab the win. Rock N Cozy held second over a closing Wedding in Sorano (Pioneering - Super Blue (CHI) by Single Dawn). Just to Think tired late, finishing 6th. Decent debuts for both of our fillies. Tonto Too

Faisal Prince (Officer - Dr. Kathy by Polish Numbers) was scratched, leaving a field of 11 first-timers to battle. Gonna Tell Mama (Bernstein - Champagne Royal by Jeblar) was the tepid favorite. Calvados (Henny Hughes - Morning Time by Gilded Time) was 4-1. Joe Hollywood (Congrats - A True Star by Yes It's True) was rambunctious on the track. St. Ivan (Suave - Royal Prize by Kingmambo) tried to dump his rider. They kept a sharp eye on him after that. Tonto Too (My Friend Max - Annika by Cahill Road) was given a rousing warm up. He battled with Joe Hollywood in the early going. Gonna Tell Mama tracked the leaders in third. Calvados had a good position in fourth during the early running. Gonna Tell Mama took a run at Tonto Too, but came up a little short. These two were more than 5 in front of a tiring Joe Hollywood. Calvados weakened some, and finished 6th. Watch the Replay.

This is Nice Stuff

Roots Run Deep (Forestry - Indy Glory by A. P. Indy) was scratched, as well as AE Eur in the Mood (Eurosilver - Western Melody by West by West), and MTO Kisses From Karen (Chief Seattle - Senita Lane by Ascot Knight). Skips Prospect (Skip Away - Roses Prospect by Allen's Prospect) was the heavy favorite. All Quiet (Henny Hughes - Quiet Rumour by Alleged) was 27-1, and La La Pazusa (Rockport Harbor - Azusa by Flying Paster) was 76-1. A Perfect Squeeze (Lemon Drop Kid - A Perfect Weekend by Stephen Got Even) delivered a favorable first impression. It was hard to fault favorite Skips Prospect on looks. Ravingaboutkitten (Kitten's Joy - Raving by Dynaformer) had good energy in the post parade. Fortheloveof Anna (Pleasant Tap - Smartullah by Smarten) went for the early lead, with All Quiet chasing. Ravingaboutkitten and Oatka Idas Rose (Closing Argument - Oatka Idas Destiny by A. P Jet) were also near the pace. Oatka Idas Rose made a move in the stretch to grab a short lead, with Skips Prospect going with her. Nice Stuff (Greeley's Galaxy - Pierpont Account by Private Account) entered into the picture, and Ravingaboutkitten was still involved. The race was up for grabs late, and 96-1 Nice Stuff took it. She paid a generous $194.00. Nice Stuff is winner number 3 for Greeley's Galaxy. In retrospect, this race was ripe for a longshot with all the money going to Skips Prospect, but there were just too many to choose from. Watch the Replay.

Love Does the Talking

The race was taken off of the turf, and run at 5.5 furlongs on the main track. Unbridled Tune (Songandaprayer - Frenchglen by Forestry) was scratched, as well as AE Parade Lap (Leading the Parade - Leagleyeser by Eagle Eyed). Vanna Go's Point (Point Given - Vanna Go by Private Terms) was the slight favorite, but MTO entrant Greek Gold (Fusaichi Pegasus - Lucette by Dayjur) took money as well. Alta Boy (Bluegrass Cat - Alta Love by Gone West) was 23-1. He and Black Acre (West Acre - Royal Dove by Dove Hunt) went for the early lead. In the stretch, Black Acre began to fade. Alta Boy was still on top, but was drifting. This allowed Love Talk (Not For Love - Parlez by French Deputy) to get through on the inside for the victory. Kodiak Song (Domestic Dispute - The Best Sister by Salem Drive) overcame Alta Boy late for the second spot. Watch the Replay.

Northern Indy is Golden

Northern Indy (A. P. Indy - Polish Nana by Polish Numbers) was the clear favorite. First-timer Zayda (Bluegrass Cat - Winter Solstice by Unbridled) was 14-1. He was off slowly, spotting the field several lengths. Twice the Appeal (Successful Appeal - Double Boarded by Cormorant) grabbed the early lead. Northern Indy was not far behind. He came up to join Twice the Appeal, and then went on by. He pulled away for a 5 length victory. Zayda did manage to catch the field and pass two horses. Considering his start, that was quite an accomplishment. Watch the Replay.
