Wealthy Aviator (colt; Henny Hughes - Jera by Jeblar) didn't break well and was bumped early in the Golden Nugget Stakes at Golden Gate Fields. He did make a middle move, but flattened out late and finished fourth. The winner was filly Cathy's Crunches (West Acre - Miss Atticus by Atticus). Watch the Replay.

Blue Laser (colt; Bluegrass Cat - With a Princess by With Approval) lost all chance in the Delta Downs Jackpot Stakes (gr. III) at Delta Downs, when he was taken to the outside fence by a riderless Aces N Kings, who bolted and lost his rider on the turn. Blue Laser was pulled up after that, but appeared to be unhurt. He walked off under his own power. The winner was Gourmet Dinner (Trippi - Potluck Dinner by Pentelicus). Watch the Replay. Read more about the Delta Jackpot here.

Rocking to the Winner's Circle

There were no scratches, and 10 ran on the fast track. Lady Bandini (Bandini - Never a Cloudy Day by Dayjur) was the choice of the bettors. Deco Rocks (Rockport Harbor - Decoratedwithonour by Matter of Honor) was dismissed at 18-1. She made a decent appearance, however. I was kind of liking the look of Ellis Island (Safe in the U S A - Just Call Me Berty by Bertrando) in the paddock. She didn't get much love either, at 16-1. It was Ellis Island who broke on top, and set the early pace. Chasing her was Lady Bandini. Deco Rocks secured a good spot. She made her move on the turn, coming wide. She drew even with Ellis Island and then kept on going. There was no one coming from behind, and Deco Rocks pulled away for a 2 1/2 victory. Ellis Island held second, and Catch Me Later (Posse - Douce Douce by Bold Ruckus) secured third. Deco Rocks is the 15th winner for Rockport Harbor. Watch the Replay.

Angelica nips Featherwing

The track was fast. Rocket Shoes (Mr. Greeley - Dying Burns by Deputy Minister) was scratched, along with the AEs Electric Boots (Bellamy Road - Lalka by Dynaformer) and Sam's Bliss (War Front - Brief Bliss by Navarone). Featherwing (Rockport Harbor - Tasso Run by Cherokee Run) was favored. Itmakeshermean (Hennessy - Mean Imogene by Silver Deputy) needed a shoe repair, so there was a delay leaving the paddock. Featherwing looked good on the track, and Uptown Brown (Pleasantly Perfect - Dixie Talent by Dixie Union) was ready for action. Party Vow (Broken Vow - Beach Party by Boston Harbor) balked a little at the load, Rarely (Cuvee - Mrs. Cook by Mr. Greeley) objected more vehemently. Then, Off and Running (Jump Start - Regale by Sefapiano) reared and dumped her rider. Finally, all were in. Featherwing scooted to the lead from her rail spot. Off and Running and Secret of the Sea (Storm Cat - Winendynme by Dynaformer) were the closest pursuers. Uptown Brown and Angelica Zapata (Sharp Humor - Two Dot Slew by Evansville Slew) weren't too far back. Featherwing built up a several length lead, and seemed to be cruising. But, coming out of the pack was Angelica Zapata. She caught Featherwing at the wire and they finished as a team. But Angelica Zapata's nose got to the line first. She is winner number 21 for Sharp Humor. Watch the Replay.
