A Midnight Visit to the Winner's Circle

Red Headed Gal (Red Bullet - Waltzing Madonna by Golden Missile) and Ripley's Revenge (Catienus - Mrs. Ripley by Yes It's True) were scratched, and eight ran on the fast track. Midnight Visit (Henny Hughes - Open Window by Trempolino) was favored. Also receiving attention from the bettors was the entry of Summer Flick (Afleet Alex - Key Definition by Gentlemen (ARG)), the only filly with experience, and Necessary Luxury (Fusaichi Pegasus - French Manicure by Hawkster). Stellars Theory (Freud - Stellar Maiden by Raffie's Majesty) broke on top, but was soon passed by Midnight Visit. Thunder Princess (Thunder Gulch - Dream Princess by Charismatic) was also up close. Those three battled, with Summer Flick watching in fourth. Stellars Theory dropped back first, and then Midnight Visit shook free from Thunder Princess. Midnight Visit seemed unphased by the fast early fractions, crossing the line 4 1/4 lengths in front. Summer Flick got by Thunder Princess for second, but Midnight Visit was long gone. She is winner number 16 for Henny Hughes. Watch the Replay.

It's Tricky

The track was fast. Indian Hermosa (Indian Ocean - Uniqueness by Tactical Advantage) was scratched, leaving a field of 6, including an entry. R Valbella (Sky Mesa - Lagaylia by American Chance) was favored. Kerfuffle (Henny Hughes - Stormy Blues by Cure the Blues) and her entrymate It's Tricky (Mineshaft - Catboat by Tale of the Cat) were 2-1, Dattts Cool (Bluegrass Cat - Culinary by El Amante) and Latin Rocks (Rockport Harbor - Latin Lynx by Forest Wildcat) were both around 6-1. Latin Rocks went to the early lead from the inside. It's Tricky and R Valbella were in pursuit. These three separated from the others. Latin Rocks continued to lead into the turn, but It's Tricky was moving. Both Kerfuffle and Dattts Cool were getting closer. It's Tricky left Latin Rocks behind, as that one tired. Datts Cool took second, but she was no real threat to It's Tricky, who won by 1 3/4 lengths. Kerfuffle overtook R Valbella to finish third, and Latin Rocks tired to 5th. Watch the Replay.
