Cane Garden Bay (colt; Rockport Harbor - Trav n' Kris by Snow Chief) was unhurried early in the Spectacular Bid Stakes. He started moving late and got his nose up to claim the third spot. The winner was Determinato (Closing Argument - Twilight Mirage by Jeblar). Closely stoutly for second was Leave of Absence (Harlan's Holiday - Danseur Chaud by Joyeux Danseur). Favored Gangsterontherun (City Zip - Bridge to Cross by Phone Trick) set the pace, but tired to fourth. Cane Garden Bay has now run 4 times, with 1 win, 1 second, 1 third, and earnings of $53,051, and can add stakes-placed to his resume. Watch the Replay. Read more about the Spectacular Bid Stakes here.

Bluegrass Dreamer (colt; Bluegrass Cat - Spring Flight by Miswaki) was the best of the rest in the Turfway Prevue Stakes at Turfway Park, finishing third behind Inhisglory (Pure Prize - Belle Erzulie by Pulpit) and Banjammer (Candy Ride (ARG) - Right Time Matty by Matty G). That pair finished just a nose apart, with favored Inhisglory getting the win. Watch the Replay. Read more about the Turfway Prevue Stakes here.

Sweeping to Victory

Doodleman (Hennessy - Marq of Beauty by Marquetry) was scratched, leaving 6 to run on the fast track. Storm 'n Indian (Storm Cat - Fleet Indian by Indian Charlie) was favored, but Cat Sweep (Bluegrass Cat - Nany's Sweep by End Sweep) was well-respected as well at 2-1. Acadian Blues (Bluegrass Cat - Dancing Gulch by Gulch) was almost 7-2. He looked good in the paddock. Cat Sweep looked ready as usual. It was a good start. Cat Sweep went to the lead. Storm 'n Indian went after Cat Sweep early, but then backed off. Ahgogo (Borrego - Dearest Gulch by Gulch) moved up to join the top pair. He was a little rank. Cat Sweep continued to lead, as Acadian Blues began to get involved. But, Cat Sweep had plenty left and pulled away for a easy 4 length victory. Storm 'n Indian came on again to secure second over Acadian Blues. This was Cat Sweep's 8th start, and his dirt debut, maybe he should stick to the surface (well, if he is wintering in New York, he doesn't really have a choice). Watch the Replay.

R Fast Cat Does Know How to Rock

There were no scratches, as all 10 ran on the Polytrack. Kathern's Jewel (El Corredor - Shining Jewel by Gulch) was a slight favorite over R Fast Cat (Bluegrass Cat - R Fast Lady by Artax) and Street Swagger (Street Cry (IRE) - Etiole by Atticus). Knows How to Rock (Rockport Harbor - Unchained Princess by Clever Trick) was almost 26-1, but he was less than half that in the early wagering. He looked decent on the track, and R Fast Cat made a good impression. Charlie's Rainman (Woodman - Racin' the Rainbow by Meadowlake) was reluctant to load. R Fast Cat broke quickly (maybe too quickly, the chart says, "out broke rider."), but Skipping the Score (Even the Score - Skip the Fuss by Skip Away) got to the front from his rail spot. Campton (Orientate - Bolshoi Ballerina by Theatrical (IRE)), Charlie's Rainman, and R Fast Cat, weren't far off. R Fast Cat was up to the front before long, with Skipping the Score still involved, and Street Swagger right there as well. R Fast Cat began to pull free in the stretch, and went on to post a 3 1/2 length victory. Kathern's Jewel came out of the pack to secure second, and Knows How to Rock was up for third. Nice win for R Fast Cat, but also a good effort from Knows How to Rock, whose previous best was 8th. Watch the Replay.

Hold That Memory was part of the pace before fading, while Seattle Louie gained ground late. He is out of the winning mare Karakorum Kiss, who has produced 2 winners from 2 to run, both of which are full siblings to Diannedoesthebooks.
