The Heart of a Winner

Enrichment (Ghostzapper - Sahara Gold by Seeking the Gold), part of an entry with Cheeky Charm (A. P. Indy - Caress by Storm Cat), was the only scratch. The track was fast. Class Song (Smart Strike - Theme Song by Dixieland Band) took the early money, but Shared Heart (Forestry - Seeking the Heart by Seeking the Gold) was favored at post time. She was looking good in the paddock. Dattts Cool (Bluegrass Cat - Culinary by El Amante) was 2-1, and Refugio (Bernardini - Storm Minstrel by Storm Cat) was almost 22-1. Dattts Cool looked ready, one of three with prior experience in the field. There was a scramble for the early lead. Dixie Gone Wild (Wild and Wicked - Down in Dixie by Carson City) took a turn, as did Woolley Bird (Birdstone - City of Silver by Nepal), and Dattts Cool. Refugio was close up as well. Also in the mix was favorite Shared Heart. Dixie Gone Wild, Shared Heart, Woolley Bird, and Dattts Cool separated from the pack. Dixie Gone Wild threw in the towel first, she would finish 8th. Shared Heart took the lead on the turn, and then pulled away. She was drifting out throughout the stretch, and still won by 11. Quite an impressive debut for this filly. Class Song picked up second, and Woolley Bird and Dattts Cool clocked in at 3rd and 4th. Refugio weakened to 9th after her early foot. Watch the Replay.

Double Down on Ten (RH10) came in a strong 3rd in his race...I'm still keeping my eye in RH10 babies, but I'm also a big Bernardini fan...and he's got a lot of winners.

Congratulations to Fort Hughes, he looks like being a graded stakes class sprinter later this year. 108 and 1/5 is super quick on that inner when it's this cold.

This may not be the right forum but then again we watched Dublin and Backtalk come up in the Maiden Watch-

MOMENT OF THE YEAR

Eclipse Award 2010 should have gone to the Kentucky Derby walk of Dublin and Backtalk, their father's  Afleet Alex and Smarty Jones, adjacent post positions, two Philly foals from two great Dads! It doesn't get any better than that. I will never forget the two of them walking side by side down the Kentucky Derby trail. I'm sure the fans of Afleet Alex and Smarty will agree. Wasn't that "Moment" AWESOME.

Thanks BH Staff...also liked Take A Hard Look(?) (RH10) win on the downhill turf at SA...neat.  Fort Hughes was impressive.  Watched all day just to see Bourbon Bay take the San Marcos.  (how can they call a 10f race a marathon?).  I think he's awesome. Couldn't see anything on the Oaklawn Park track in the fog but, silly me, I watched it anyway. (Love Win Willy..felt really bad for Terry Wallace trying to call what he couldn't see).
