Midnight Visit (Henny Hughes - Open Window by Trempolino) and All Quiet (filly; Henny Hughes - Quiet Rumour by Alleged) finished 3rd and 4th meet in the mile and 70 yard Proud Puppy Stakes at Aqueduct. Boreal Forest Sprouts a Win

The other three-year-old in the race, Exchangingmemories (Exchange Rate - Extra Free by Tri Jet), was scratched. The track was labeled good for the remaining 5. Impassioned (Kafwain - Star Kell by Star de Naskra) was favored, and Daddyroe (Rockport Harbor - Top Marks by Marquetry) was 7-1. Boreal Forest (Forest Camp - Green Heights by Miswaki) sprang to the lead. Daddyroe broke flatfooted, and trailed early. Impassioned was chasing Boreal Forest, and moved up on the turn to apply some pressure. These two dueled for awhile, but Boreal Forest shook off Impassioned. Daddyroe was gaining late on the inside to move into second, but he was 2 1/4 lengths behind Boreal Forest at the finish. Still not a bad debut from Daddyroe, shaking off that poor start. Five-year-old Boreal Forest was also making his first start. Watch the Replay.

Locking Up a Win

There were no scratches, and the track was fast. Lock N Lola (Pvt. Lynch - Fancy Locket by Woodman) and Texas Aggie (Purge - Texas Tammy by Seeking the Gold) battled for favoritism, with Lock N Lola the slight choice at post time. Bellamy Lass (Bellamy Road - Seraphic Too by Southern Halo) was almost 14-1. Lock N Lola went straight to the front. She was joined by Angel Over Me (Aldebaran - Bay of Angels by Seattle Slew). Debuting Cunning Artist (Pleasantly Perfect - Talented Lady by Theatrical (IRE)) was off slowly, and Angel Divine (Canadian Frontier - Our Special Angel by Dignitas) was unsettled early. Angel Over Me began to retreat after a half, but Texas Aggie took up the running. She took a brief lead, but Lock N Lola fought back. They battled to the finish, with Lock N Lola creeping away at the finish. A length and a half behind these was Trac N Jam (El Corredor - Swan River by Hennessy), who was more than 15 in front of the rest of them. Bellamy Lass was in a decent position early, but retreated and finished 7th. Watch the Replay.
