Gallant Dreams (Bernardini - Dreams Gallore by Silver Ghost) did his best to slow down Uncle Mo, in the Timely Writer Stakes at Gulfstream Park, bumping him soundly at the start, but there was no slowing down the champion. Uncle Mo took it by an easy 3 3/4 lengths. Gallant Dreams did manage to pick up third, 5 3/4 lengths behind second-place Rattlesnake Bridge, so now he can add stakes-placed to his resume. Watch the Replay. Read more about the Timely Writer here.

Praetereo Rolls Home

There were no scratches, and the track was fast. Charlies Swell (Malibu Moon - Little Indian Girl by Indian Charlie) was favored, and Occelli (Bernardini - Grannies Feather by At Full Feather) was 7-1. Jeanbaptiste Corot (Mr. Greeley - Ethel Anna by Storm Cat) and Br. Alexander (Maria's Mon - Miss Hellie by A.P. Indy) caught my eye. Occelli looked ready, and he went right to the lead. On the other hand, Fad (Tiznow - Tustarta by Trempolino) was off slowly. Longshot Saigon Story (Quiet American - Penny Marie by Sky Classic) was chasing Occelli early. Favorite Charlies Swell made his move, and hit the front. But, it was short-lived. Praetereo (Giant's Causeway - Deb's Charm by Silver Charm) came up the outside, and Jeanbaptiste Corot the inside, to overtake Charlies Swell. Praetereo was going best, and took it by 3/4 length. Occelli tired to 8th (last) after his early action. Watch the Replay.

A Bold Deed

All seven ran on the fast track. Bold Deed (Anasheed - Boltono by Unbridled's Song) was the heavy favorite. Appian Way (Bellamy Road - Roman Jet by Roman Diplomat) was 7-1. Bold Deed sprang to the lead. Sam Hillic (Kafwain - Stormy Girl by Future Storm) and Appian Way took up the chase. Sam Hillic retreated after a half, but Appian Way continued his pursuit of Bold Deed. In the stretch, however, Bold Deed pulled away, and went on to post a 6 1/4 length victory. Bigger Is Bettor (Grand Reward - Regal Angela by Regal Intention) did some running late to move into second, and Appian Way just held third over Sound of Drums (Fusaichi Pegasus - Morning Sun by Dehere). The Adirondack Express is in Business

Only the AEs were scratched, and the track was fast. Adirondack Express (Silver Train - Teewee's Hope by Defrere) was favored, but Uncle Carm (Bluegrass Cat - Lady Cruella by Capote) was respected at 2-1. First-timer Strong Hold (Strong Contender - Stormy Eve by Stormy Atlantic) took early money. Lewisham (City Zip - Brighton Belle by High Brite) looked good as they headed to the gate. He broke on top, but let Olde Kings Highway (Eddington - Elle Est Revenue (IRE) by Night Shift) set the pace. Uncle Carm was settled off the pace. Olde Kings Highway and Lewisham continued 1-2, but Self (Borrego - Bold Roberta by Bold Badgett) entered the picture, taking a short lead. He had no answer, however, for the onrushing Adirondack Express, who went on by for the win. Uncle Carm picked up third late. Watch the Replay.

Redeemed by Ninja Blade

Eastside Train (Silver Train - Eastside Ballad by Saint Ballado) and My Valentino (Pomeroy - Dance Delight by Colonial Affair) were scratched, as well as AEs Fly Magic (Albert the Great - To Fly Free by Fly So Free) and Runricorun (Disco Rico - Forewarned by Tamayaz). Fly Magic runs in race 4 at Gulfstream on March 13. Ninja Blade (Johannesburg - Mekko Hokte by Holy Bull) was favored. Show Me the Way (Rockport Harbor - Deputy Reality by Deputy Minister) was 8-1, and Bayamo (Bernardini - Banshee Winds by Known Fact) was 15-1. Police Chatter (Tale of the Cat - Charm a Gendarme by Batonnier) made a good impression on the track. Show Me the Way was off well, Bayamo was at the back. Show Me the Way was on top, but he had company from Police Chatter and Redeemed (Include - Early Mass by Pleasant Tap). Ninja Blade was not far off. Show Me the Way began to weaken in the stretch, as Ninja Blade came on. Redeemed held him off, however, for a smart 1/2 length win. Bayamo was never involved after his slow start, finishing 8th. He's No Bluff

Daddyroe (Rockport Harbor - Top Marks by Marquetry), who ran on Friday, was scratched, as well as Warrior Nation (A. P. Warrior - I'm Alymatt by Opening Verse). Easy Argument (Closing Argument - Palenki by Pembroke) was favored, and debuting Ryegrass Road (Bellamy Road - Leigh Lake by Kris S.) was 5-1. Longshot Bluffmaster (Song of the Sword - Tryster by Carr de Naskra) set the pace. Rio Samba (Forest Grove - Bet On Roses by Charismatic) and Gordonryan (War Front - Dontstealmythunder by Thunder Gulch) applied early pressure, and then favorite Easy Argument moved into contention. Bluffmaster continued to lead. Bergkamp (Roar of the Tiger - Comet Crossing by Comet Shine) made a run and got into second, despite drifting out. But, no one was catching Bluffmaster, who led all the way for the win. Ryegrass Road picked up fourth late. He was mostly passing tired ones, but at least he was running at the end. Duca Outfights Zoebear

There were no scratches, and the track was fast. As usual, Zoebear (Bellamy Road - Inthemiddleofitall by Proper Reality) was favored. Duca (Empire Maker - Tempus Fugit by Alphabet Soup) set the pace, but he had company from Forgotten Knot (Flower Alley - St. John Dress by Richter Scale) and Heavenly Shiloh (Broken Vow - Nasranian Devil by Silver Ghost). Zoebear was not far off either. Duca continued to lead, as Zoebear readied his challenge. Making a move from the back of the pack was Admiral Rocket (Successful Appeal - Foolish Kiss by Kissin Kris). Zoebear seemed like he would go on by Duca, but Duca shook him off and went on to a 1 1/2 length victory. Zoebear was safely in front of Admiral Rocket for second. Watch the Replay.

A Jewel for Kathern

Kathern's Jewel (El Corredor - Shining Jewel by Gulch) was the heavy favorite. He did drift up a bit from the 1-9 that he opened at, but was still even money at post time. Rocky Bear (Rockport Harbor - Mama Bear by Forestry) was 18-1. First-timer Tapanna (Tapit - Stormy Sunday by Sir Cat) went to the lead, pressed by Barry Dale (Flower Alley - Tomorrows Empress by Tomorrows Cat). Also near the front were Rip and Roll (Military - Fairly Fast by Fast Play) and Kathern's Jewel. Rocky Bear had a good spot, not too far off the pace. Tapanna and Rip and Roll traded punches, but Kathern's Jewel was ready to pounce. Tapanna hung tough, but Kathern's Jewel wore him down, winning by a length. No Rain No Rainbow (Unbridled Energy - Snappy Little Tune by Spanish Drums) closed again to pick up third. Rocky Bear didn't have much answer late, finishing 6th. Watch the Replay.
