Earning Star Billing

There were no scratches, and the turf was firm. The entry of Star Billing (Dynaformer - Topliner by Thunder Gulch) and Ringmistress (Bandini - Jasminola (FR) by Seattle Dancer) was the 4-5 choice, Blue Grass Music (Bluegrass Cat - Killoe by Kris S.) went off at 5-2. Longshot Suwaalif (Cee's Tizzy - Dakota Lass by Crowning Storm) had some spunk in the paddock. Blue Grass Music looked good on the track. Candys Girl (Bertolini - Sweet Cando (IRE) by Royal Applause (GB)) shot out of the gate to take the early lead, with Star Billing chasing. Blue Grass Music got off to a much better start today as compared to her debut, and wasn't too far back, along with Lindz Winz (Vronsky - Craven Cottage by Smokester). Candys Girl continued to lead the pack. Blue Grass Music was in a good spot on the rail, and Star Billing was getting closer. Star Billing made her move, bumping with Candys Girl, as she swept to the lead. Star Billing went on to win by 2 1/2 lengths. Ringmistress captured second by a nose over Candys Girl, and Blue Grass Music was back in fourth. There was a stewards' inquiry concerning the bumping between Star Billing and Candys Girl, but the result stood. Blue Grass Music seemed to stall a bit late, but it was definitely an improvement over her debut. Watch the Replay.
