Musical Miracle Sings a Winning Tune

Sea of Joy (filly; Ministers Wild Cat - Sorority Bid by Bertrando) was the only scratch, and the track was fast. Musical Miracle (filly; Rio Verde - Song of Music by Songandaprayer) was the 4-5 choice, and had some spunk on the track. Oh Righty (colt; Rio Verde - Right Direction by West by West) also received attention at 2-1. Rino S (colt; Tribal Rule - When and Where by Siyah Kalem) was a tad reluctant to load. Lots of bumping at the start, but out ahead of it was Musical Miracle. Oh Righty chased her throughout, but she was not to be caught. Musical Miracle finished 1 1/4 lengths in front, despite drifting out. Oh Righty was another 2 1/4 lengths better than the others, with Bulletgirl (filly; Freespool - Lady Deathstrike by Good and Tough) and Rino S just a head apart in third and fourth. By the way, no one put up $100,000 to claim any of the 2-year-olds. Watch the Replay.

Robbie Wins the War

Eurasian (Bernstein - Maywood's Jill by Fit to Fight), On My Honor (Petionville - Shapes and Shadows by Dynaformer), Seeking Solace (Seeking the Gold - Solvig by Caerleon), and AE entrant Cook Inlet (Candy Ride (ARG) - Grove City by Pleasant Tap) were scratched. The turf was good. Unex Dali (GB) (Dubawi (IRE) - Pure (GB) by Slip Anchor (GB)) was favored, and Houston Harbor (Rockport Harbor - Southern Tour by Tour d'Or) was 2-1. Robbie's War (War Chant - Miss Cassia (GB) by Compton Place (GB)) caught my eye, as they moved out to the track. Houston Harbor looked good on the track, but the turf was the unknown factor. The break was good. Lemou (Leroidesanimaux (BRZ) - Melina Mou (IRE) by Persian Bold (IRE)) set the pace, with Robbie's War chasing. Houston Harbor was in a good spot on the outside in third. Favorite Unex Dali was not far off, but was very rank, pulling hard. Robbie's War made a move, and went after Lemou. Houston Harbor was coming as well, but steadied, and then retreated. He finished 6th, defeating only favorite Unex Dali. Up front, Lemou and Robbie's War continued to battle. Late on the scene was Extra Fifty (Afleet Alex - Transition Time by Dynaformer). Those three finished together. Robbie's War and Lemou were separated by just a bob of Robbie's War's nose, Extra Fifty was another head behind in third. Extra Fifty dominated the gallop out, if you put any stock in such things. Interestingly, these three met on February 13 at Santa Anita, with Robbie's War finishing 2nd, Extra Fifty 5th, and Lemou 9th. The exacta paid a nifty $213.80 for a dollar. I hope that you had it.
