Midnight Visit (Henny Hughes - Open Window by Trempolino) was wide in fourth early in the Love is Eternal Stakes at Aqueduct, as Those Lion Eyes and Good Habits battled up front. She gradually began to gain on the outside, and got by a stubborn Those Lion Eyes late for a 1/2 length victory. Midnight Visit now has three wins and a third in four starts, with earnings of $90,000. Watch the Replay.

To Honor and Serve (Bernardini - Pilfer by Deputy Minister) was up on the pace early, but tired and finished third in the Florida Derby (gr. I) at Gulfstream Park. Stay Thirsty (Bernardini - Marozia by Storm Bird) saved some ground, but was never really a threat, finishing 7th. The winner was Dialed In (Mineshaft - Miss Doolittle by Storm Cat), who got up late over longshot pacesetter Shackleford. Watch the Replay. Read more about the Florida Derby here.

Calling the Ice Cream Man

Moon On Fire (Malibu Moon - Rich Legacy by Polish Numbers) was scratched, and the track was fast. Favoritism vacillated between Jack London (Tale of the Cat - Frost Princess by Waquoit) and first-timer Ice Cream Man (Elusive Quality - Catbaby by A.P. Indy), with the latter getting the nod at post time. Golden Triumph (Bernardini - Golden Sonata by Mr. Prospector) was 5-1. Friends Place (Friends Lake - Cherokee Rain by Cherokee Colony) was a little jumpy as they went to the track. Avenue B (Pulpit - Thorough Fair by Quiet American) looked good to me, and Jack London looked ready to roll. Golden Triumph warmed up nicely. Golden Triumph went after the early lead, along with Ice Cream Man. Golden Triumph secured the lead, as Jack London got closer. Ice Cream Man slipped through on the inside, to gain the advantage. Global Power (Pulpit - Hidden Cat by Storm Cat) was making steady gain. He moved by Golden Triumph into second, but couldn't catch Ice Cream Man. Golden Triumph had to settle for third, but not a bad debut. Watch the Replay.

Anandi is Long Gone

She's Out to Lunch (Unbridled's Image - Dinnerat Five by Formal Dinner) was scratched, and the turf was yielding. First-timer Anandi (Anabaa - Anawac by Quack), sent out by Christophe Clement, took all the early money, but Start Street (Jump Start - Ayres Hall by Jade Hunter) was favored when they went in the gate. Night Drive (Bernardini - Belle Nuit by Dr. Carter) was 6-1. The favorite was a little skittish at the load, and then fellow debuter B Karma (Mr. Livingston - C B Carm by Slick) acted up as well. There was a bit of a scramble for the early lead, Just One (Century City (IRE) - Sky Wing by Septieme Ciel) claimed it, and put some distance on the field. Pretty Holy (Red Bullet - Extra Holy by Exploit) and B Karma were the closest pursuers. Just One began to come back to the pack. Anandi made a move on the outside. Just One and B Karma kept pace for awhile, but then Anandi spurted away. Start Street ran on late, but she was second best to Anandi, who won by 7 3/4 lengths. Cass' Lady (Eurosilver - R Lady Deputy by Deputy Commander) put in a decent effort to claim third. Night Drive made a move to get into contention, but flattened out and finished 5th. There was a claim of foul by the rider of Start Street against the winner. I thought this was kind of a tough call. Anandi did take out a couple at the start, but she was so much the best. In the end, no change was made.Watch the Replay.

Meistersinger Masters Gulfstream

Bomber Boy (Bernardini - Here I Go by Mr. Prospector) was scratched, along with AE entrant Ripples n' Waves (Malibu Moon - Riverkeeper by Awesome Again). AE entry Fire With Fire (Distorted Humor - Cosmic Fire by Capote) got to run. Hammersmith (Johannesburg - Bella Bellucci by French Deputy) was favored, and Rockport's Song (Rockport Harbor - Lady Biscayne by French Deputy) was almost 26-1. He went for the early lead, however, along with Big Herman (Indian Charlie - Bonaire (GB) by Air Express (IRE)) and Meistersinger (Yes It's True - Uncontrollable by Wild Again). Rockport's Song and Big Herman dueled, with Meistersinger watching in third, and Fire With Fire up close as well. Rockport's Song began to drop back, leaving the lead to Big Herman. But, Meistersinger soon joined him. Meistersinger took the lead, but first-timer Malibu Glow (Malibu Moon - Golden Locket by Storm Creek) was motering home, while on the wrong lead. Meistersinger held off Malibu Glow for the victory, with Big Herman back in third. Rockport's Song faded to 9th. Watch the Replay.

Break Up the Game (colt; Bernardini - Pennant Champion by Mr. Prospector) was the overwhelming favorite in race 3 at Aqueduct, a mile Allowance race for three-year-olds and up, but he couldn't quite catch 6-year-old Joe Corrigan (Regal Classic - All Net Joe by Cure the Blues), who took the 4 horse race by a neck.
