Showing Some Atatude

All eight ran, including the entry of Ken Sing a Song (Werblin - Miss Dixie Dream by Dixie Brass) and Silkystar (Cuvee - Famous Lady Ann by Salt Lake). The track was fast. Bluegrass Atatude (Two Punch - Potomac Bend by Polish Numbers) took all the early money, but Forever Noble (Noble Causeway - Ioya Forever by Louis Quatorze), by first-crop sire Noble Causeway, was the slight choice at post time. Filare l'Oro (Hard Spun - Elusive Gold by Strike the Gold) was 20-1. She made a decent appearance, but looked as though 4.5 furlongs might not far enough. Bluegrass Atatude definitely looked ready. She bumped with Filare l'Oro at the start, and Silkystar broke outward. Dancing Anna (Cuvee - Mesabu by Fred Astaire) was briefly on top, but Defy Gravity (Bandini - Quickest by Forest Wildcat) went by to set the pace. Silkystar entered the picture in third. These three separated from the field. Bluegrass Atatude began to make up some ground. She was green, but she was really running, and ended up winning easily. She was 2 lengths in front at the wire. Dancing Anna and Defy Gravity finished together, separated by a nose in second and third. Filare l'Oro finally got going late, claiming the fourth spot. She gained some valuable experience, and should be better next time. Watch the Replay.

Readers Criminal Type and the Treblocs were at Pimlico to witness Filare l'Oro's debut. Criminal Type will be sending pictures for us to enjoy. Read Criminal Type's and Mrs. Trebloc's comments on the race here (scroll down).
