The Winning Dance

The only scratch was Lady Lua (Cat Thief - Onemiracleatatime by Gulch), part of an entry with My Kentucky Rose (Macho Uno - Mini Marker by Marquetry). Ann of the Dance (English Channel - Dans La Ville (CHI) by Winning), who was breaking from the rail after the scratch, was a slight favorite over My Kentucky Rose. One Hot Philly (Latent Heat - Mia Casa Grande by Grand Slam) had some spring in her step, as they went to the track. My Kentucky Rose was a little jumpy. I liked the look of Circular Street (Friends Lake - Sweet Juliet by Crafty Prospector), and Ann of the Dance looked ready. My Kentucky Rose balked a bit at the load. Ann of the Dance was bumped soundly at the break by Yorona (Storm Surge - Sumneytown by Deputy Commander), and was at the back. One Hot Philly sprinted to the lead, opening up on the others. Blond Warrior (A. P. Warrior - Dynamite Blond by Halo) and Yorona set after her. Ann of the Dance was trying to get involved, but found more trouble, having to check. Yorona took the lead, but Circular Street was moving. Also on the move was Ann of the Dance. She went on by for a one length victory. After all that trouble, she was miles the best. Ann of the Dance is winner number one for English Channel, whose three starters have all hit the board. Watch the Replay.
