A Half Pleasant Win

Andmoreexcuses (Include - Elle Nicole by El Corredor) was scratched, leaving nine to run on the fast track. Half Pleasant (Half Ours - Sparkle Colony by Pleasant Colony), dropping in from Maiden Special Weight, was favored. R Next Gem (English Channel - Jewels N Gems by Acceptable) was respected at almost 3-1. Guile (Posse - Cunning by Lord At War (ARG)) looked good in the paddock, and several were bouncing on the track. I was kind of attracted to Grandma's Rules (Orientate - Four Plus Four by Major Impact). R Next Gem looked ready to go. It was a decent break, but Came a Storm (Stormin Fever - Overcame by Conquistador Cielo) was bumped early, and trailed. Half Pleasant broke well and went to the lead, chased by Purses Galore (Successful Appeal - Evening Stroll by Johannesburg) and Fitz'n to Go (Seattle Fitz (ARG) - Gracie Jo by Smoke Glacken). R Next Gem was off the pace in seventh. Grandma's Rules made a run to reach contention, but Half Pleasant continued to show the way. She sprinted away in the stretch to win by an easy 4 1/4 lengths. Purses Galore, who was running a bit green, held off Grandma's Rules for second, and R Next Gem was more than 2 behind these in fourth. Half Pleasant is the third winner for Half Ours. Watch the Replay.

Born Bullish was most impressive. I've always liked Holy Bull and by extention, his progeny and now their progeny. Good Job. Also,I'd like to know who that was who finished second coming from last and making up ground like a freight train.

Busy day for maidens. Lot's of opportunities for first year stallions to shine today. I'll stick with the Hard Spun's though. Good Luck and safe racing to all.

I will miss most todays races since I have a full day of work with my own horse(3/4 Arabian,1/4 Morgan)He turned 3 six weeks ago and is becoming a gelding today for all the obvious reasons !
