Caviar N Champagne Splashing to the Win

The rains came to Saratoga, and the track was sloppy by the time this one was run. One Lovely Lady (Formal Dinner - Design Appeal by Honour and Glory) and Harbor Mist (Rockport Harbor - Jaramar Miss by Risen Star) were scratched. Purses Galore (Successful Appeal - Evening Stroll by Johannesburg) was favored, Angel Love (Corinthian - Open Story by Open Forum) was 5-1, and Buccella (Corinthian - Western Tempest by Gone West) was 11-1. Stormy Weather called the horses to the post. Angel Love and Purses Galore looked good exiting the paddock. I did not get a good look at Buccella. The load was pretty smooth. There was a scramble for the early lead, Caviar N Champagne (Formal Dinner - Arctic Dove by Dove Hunt) emerged with it. Not far off were Trust N Madam (Trust N Luck - Sweetsouthernmadam by Sweetsouthernsaint), Purses Gallore, and Downhill Joey (Henny Hughes - Lil Cozette by Kris S.). Caviar N Champagne continued to lead, and then in the stretch really took off. She crossed the line 7 1/2 lengths in front. Bye Love You (Stevie Wonderboy - Touch of Joy by Crafty Prospector) and Purses Galore finished a neck apart in second and third. Buccella delivered a decent debut, checking in fourth, and Angel Love was fifth. It was nice to see an Ohio-bred win at Saratoga. Watch the Replay.

Will be at DP for MSW race, looks wide open, especially if FIO does not fire...the one to beat. Don

Don - Hope you scored on the Delaware MSW. Decent payout, since the 3-5 was out. Not sure why everyone was in love with Irish Exchange. Filare l'Oro stumbled again at the start.

Thnaks Chris, I did go with 3 horses in my DD with winner in first, one of which was #3 A Dutrow's Grace Hall, which was a nice payout, but that was it moving on....strange day, also had FIO #1 and Larry Jones' horse #5 that took most of the $ and actually made the winner better than expected. Poor FIO though, hope he gets to stretch out next time....may take a bit longer. Don
