Rawaafed (colt; Invasor (ARG) - Holly's Kid by Pulpit) finished a good third in his mile contest over good turf on the straight course at Doncaster. He was just a 1/2 length plus a head behind the winner Perennial (Motivator (GB) - Arum Lily by Woodman), and second-place Encke (Kingmambo - Shawanda (IRE) by Sinndar (IRE). Rawaafed was in a good spot from the start, just behind the leaders, made a bid for the lead, and kept running, despite coming up short.

A Preaching Easy Win

Bluegrasskitten (Bluegrass Cat - Kilifi Creek by Gone West) was scratched, leaving 6 to run on the Polytrack. Flor Morena (Songandaprayer - Darling Katey by Marquetry) was favored at close to even money. Preach Easy (Corinthian - Maypole Dance by Northern Raja) was respected at 7-2. She looked good on the track, and I was also liking Good Weather (A. P. Warrior - Arizona Crossing by Coronado's Quest). Camp Cook (Posh - Lac Azure by Lac Ouimet) looked like she needed a race. First-timer Eileen Evelyn (Shore Breeze - Greer Garson by Cherokee Saga) was reluctant to enter the starting gate. Good Weather broke on top, but Flor Morena went by to set the early pace. Good Weather and Preach Easy were chasing. Flor Morena continued to lead, but Preach Easy went after her. She kept coming and coming, and swept by Flor Morena. Preach Easy ended up winning by an easy 3 1/4 lengths. It was another 10 lengths back to third-place Lady Lua (Cat Thief - Onemiracleatatime by Gulch). Good Weather tired to 5th. Preach Easy is winner number four for Corinthian. I was a little bit surprised that Preach Easy was not claimed out of this race. I would expect her to run at a little higher level next time around. Strait of Dover (English Channel - Bahrain Star by Danzig) is entered in a 6.5 furlong Allowance at Hastings.
