Allowance/Optional Claiming Result

Yvete Sangalo (filly; Hard Spun - Ya Tarra (GB) by Unbridled) ran on late to finish third in race 4 at Remington Park, a 5.5 furlong Allowance/Optional Claiming race. Watch the Replay.

Finally It's Filare l'Oro

Misty in Malibu (Malibu Moon - Misty Rain by Rubiano), part of an entry with Plum (Pure Prize - Bamba by Not For Love), was the only scratch. The track was fast. Filare l'Oro (Hard Spun - Elusive Gold by Strike the Gold) opened at 9-5. I guess that I wasn't the only one that wanted to see her stretch out. She was also adding blinkers. Moonovermanhattan (Malibu Moon - East Is East by Gone West) looked good at first glance, and I found High Top Sneakers (Father Steve - High Heel Sneaker by Dehere) interesting. She was taking a little early money. La Reine's Wager (La Reine's Terms - Sumwager by Summer Squall) appeared a little flighty, and Filare l'Oro looked ready for action. High Top Sneakers stumbled at the start. La Reine's Wager went for the lead, but Filare l'Oro was showing speed today with her new blinkers, and snagged it from her. Those two went head-to-head for the first 6 furlongs, and soon separated from the rest. It looked as though La Reine's Wager might get by, but then Filare l'Oro really took off. She went on to win by an easy 8 1/2 lengths. Plum came on late to nip La Reine's Wager for second place. Filare l'Oro, who was Hard Spun's first runner back on April 15, becomes his 17th winner. Watch the Replay.

Salsaing to the Win

Missed the prelmins from this one due to a meeting. Sisterhood (Kitten's Joy - Caterette by Cozzene) and Sam's Sunny City (City Zip - Sam's Sunny Halo by Prospector's Halo) were scratched from the main field, allowing AEs Silver Mystique (Badge of Silver - Skatesheba (FR) by Green Tune) and Tiana (Offlee Wild - Creme de La Creme (FR) by Vettori (IRE)) to run. AE entrant Power of Gold (Powerscourt (GB) - Golden Accolade (GB) by Highest Honor (FR)) and MTO entrant Opalite (Quiet American - Lady in Waiting by Woodman) were left on the sidelines. The turf was firm. Favoritism fell to Bye Love You (Stevie Wonderboy - Touch of Joy by Crafty Prospector) by a couple ticks over Tiana. Southern Bight (English Channel - Nani Rose by Peteski) was almost 18-1. Tiana broke on top, but she soon had company. Emerging with the lead was Permanent Wave (Awesome Again - India Halo (ARG) by Halo Sunshine) with Southern Bight and Ode to Sami (Lion Heart - Kombat Lake by Meadowlake) after her. Salsa Mambo (Include - Miss Special Salsa by Mr. Greeley) and Tiana were next in line. Permanent Wave continued to show the way, with Ode to Sami and Southern Bight still chasing. Salsa Mambo came through the inside to take the lead over Permanent Wave, with Southern Bight still in the mix. Bye Love You made a late move on the outside to snare second, but Salsa Mambo was 2 lengths clear for the victory. Permanent Wave held third by a head over Southern Bight, who got her nose in front of Tiana at the finish. Nice looking win for Salsa Mambo, but good debut as well for Southern Bight.
