Invasor picked up his second winner when High Compression (filly; Invasor (ARG) - Settling In by Green Desert) won race 1 at Delaware Park, a mile and 70 yard Maiden Claiming race (Claiming Price $10,000), by 14 1/2 lengths. Watch the Replay.

Preach Easy (filly; Corinthian - Maypole Dance by Northern Raja) closed well to finish third in race 8 at Hawthorne, a 6 furlong Claiming race (Claiming Price $25,000). Watch the Replay.

Tippie Taps to the Win

On the Same Page (Catienus - Blue Holiday by Cure the Blues), entrymate to Angel Love (Corinthian - Open Story by Open Forum), was scratched, leaving 9 on the Polytrack. Wicked Night (Tiznow - Solidplatinumgirl by Rahy) was favored, but Angel Love got some respect at 9-2. She was looking good in the paddock. The field was a little skittish in the post parade, not uncommon with a bunch of 2-year-old fillies. Debuting Tippie Tap (Pleasant Tap - Karsavina by Theatrical (IRE)) was nervous early, but looked better and better, as she warmed up. Angel Love was off well, but a little disadvantaged by her outside post. North Star Girl (Holy Bull - Glittering Seas by Glitterman) emerged with the lead, with Wicked Night chasing, and Angel Love watching in third. North Star Girl began to get away a little, but then Wicked Night reeled her in, moving even. Meanwhile, Angel Love clipped heels and retreated. Wicked Night's lead was short-lived, as Tippie Tap and Right Sassy (Sky Classic - Right Time Matty by Matty G) were rolling. They went on by Wicked Night, and finished together. Right Sassy won the photo, but there was a stewards' inquiry. After a long review, Right Sassy was disqualified and placed eighth for cutting off Angel Love, and causing her to clip heels. As a result, Tippie Tap got the win in her iniitial try, Wicked Night and Be Quiet Lady were second and third, and Angel Love was officially 7th. Watch the Replay.

Karlovy Vary Escapes the Drama

Only the AEs were scratched, and the turf was firm. Karlovy Vary (Dynaformer - The Right Pew by Pulpit) was the heavy favorite. Cerce Cay (Hard Spun - Timely Legend by Navorone) was better than 21-1. First-timer Bromelia (Unbridled's Song - Elle Meme by Zilzal) is one for chrome lovers, and she warmed up nicely. I was liking Bargain Blitz (Rahy - Freedom of Speech by Danzig) a bit, but couldn't fault the favorite. Royal Decree (Street Cry (IRE) - Ticker Tape (GB) by Royal Applause (GB)), the first foal out of grade I winner Ticker Tape, balked a bit at the load, and got a shove into the gate. Wendy and Her Cats (Vindication - Inviting by Exploit) and Karlovy Vary went for the lead, with Wendy and Her Cats holding the early advantage. Cerce Cay was up close too, claiming third early. Wendy and Her Cats stayed on top for the first 6 furlongs, but Karlovy Vary wore her down and took the lead. Drama Drama (Lemon Drop Kid - Sixty Rocketts by Belong to Me) and Bromelia both finished well, but they had to settle for the minor awards, as Karlovy Vary took the race by 1 1/2 lengths. Cerce Cay tired to 11th after her early involvement. Interestingly, Karlovy Vary's full brother Rocket Legs was entered at Suffolk Downs on October 12, but was scratched. Watch out for Bromelia next time, she looks like a filly with a nice future. Watch the Replay.
