News and Notes

You may have noticed a lack of workouts in the last couple of blog posts. I have decided that for the remainder of 2011, I will only be noting new workers for this year's stallions.

Let Me Count The Ways

Moves Like Jagger (Stonesider - Penthouse Melody by Pentelicus) was scratched. It was raining, and the track was sloppy for the remaining 6. How Do I Win (Corinthian - Silver Crown by Distorted Humor) was the heavy favorite. I kind of liked the look of Naif (Kafwain - Scootin Dana by Lord Avie). Little Wyatt (Rockport Harbor - Open Minded by Wharf) was really rank in the warm-up. Naif was squeezed at the start, and trailed the field by a half a dozen lengths. How Do I Win broke running with Blue Punch (Two Punch - Miss Quackers by Favorite Trick) and First Verse (Songandaprayer - Veiled Promises by Scarlet Ibis) after him. How Do I Win began to pull away from the others. First Verse was his nearest pursuer, but he was no match. How Do I Win went on to win by more than 17 lengths. First Verse continued in second, and Deal Casino (Fusaichi Pegasus - Fleeting Feline by Tale of the Cat) picked up third. Blue Punch tired to fourth, and Naif almost caught up to the rest in fifth. Little Wyatt was eased. It seems like his pre-race antics took a little too much out of him. How Do I Win is the 8th winner for Corinthian. Watch the Replay.

Night Dancing to the Win

Magheetah (Consolidator - Beau's Regal Gal by Beau Genius) and Seminole Lady (Indian Charlie - Forest Lady by Woodman) were scratched. The track was sloppy. Run Wild (Wild Rush - Silky Omega by Fusaichi Pegasus) took the early money, but Night Dance (Street Sense - Fly to the Stars by Giant's Causeway) was the clear choice at post time. They both made favorable impressions on the track. Lacy Ruffles (Grand Slam - Hottamolly by Sky Classic) outbroke the field, but she was soon overtaken by Night Dance, who went on to set the pace. Run Wild took after Night Dance, and looked to make a race of it. But, Night Dance spurted away from that opponent, despite showing some resistance to switching leads. She went on to win by 6 lengths. Run Wild was more than 3 in front of Amadahy (Rock Hard Ten - Aztec Pearl by A.P. Indy), who was well clear of the others. Night Dance is winner number 8 for Street Sense. Watch the Replay.
