Cheering to the Wire

Real Ruffian (Ghostzapper - No Foul Play by Great Gladiator) was scratched, leaving 6 on the Polytrack. Cheerful Heart (Corinthian - Glacken's Mark by Smoke Glacken) was favored, and English Sunrise (English Channel - California Sunset by Deputy Minister) was 8-1. Inclusa (Include - Smart Angel by Smart Strike) made a favorable impression as she left the paddock. May's Pegasus (Fusaichi Pegasus - Pandora's Secret by Wolf Power (SAF)) looked good on the track, Cheerful Heart looked even better. Sharina (Orientate - Lady Low by Lyphard) went for the lead, along with May's Pegasus. May's Pegasus won that battle, and spurted away from the field. Cheerful Heart was in 4th on the rail, and English Sunrise trailed early. The field began to catch up to May's Pegasus. Cheerful Heart stayed on the rail, moving up to challenge May's Pegasus. That filly hung in for a time, but then Cheerful Heart pulled away for a 2 length win. English closed well to pick up second, Dolce Lemone (Lemon Drop Kid - Green Noble by Green Dancer) was steady in third, Inclusa claimed fourth, and May's Pegasus and Sharina tired to 5th and 6th. Cheerful Heart is winner number 9 for Corinthian. Watch the Replay.

Chris thanks for mentioning daughter of Lion Heart-Agave Kiss yesterday she gave me a wonderful double,pick-3 and lost out of my pick-4 when favorite Proud & Charming was scratched before 5th race, got some crumbs instead..then when I took a look at the delegated winner in 5th, Court of Dreams...sired by POWERSCOURT (GB), bingo should have noticed that....as Tom Dirken called out throughout race 3  "AK" "in control" and "well in hand" 109+ I will be watching her..one additional note about Belmont and Lion Heart in race#7 "Bellacourt" another daughter of Lion Heart won nicely with Corey Nakatani...he is riding so well on East coast now...so was a very good day...some downs, mostly ups....any info/feedback on Lion Heart sire...just becoming aware of this guy...? Don - Lion Heart (Tale of the Cat - Satin Sunrise by Mr. Leader) is an excellent juvenile sire. Unfortunately, he is now in Turkey. I believe his last US crop was born in 2010.

Funny about the Agave Kiss race. I was in the other room, and for the first half of the race, I thought Durkin was saying "Agave Piss."

It is good to see Nakatani riding well again. I guess the change of venue did the trick.
