Allowance Result

Seaside Magic (filly; Hard Spun - Enduring Will by Arch) made a late run after bobbling at the start, and finished 3rd in race 7 at Monmouth, a 6 furlong Allowance race. Buccella (filly; Corinthian - Western Tempest by Gone West) was scratched. Watch the Replay.

Wild Finish Goes to Wild Exploit

The turf was good, and only the AEs and the MTO were scratched. The bettors had a little trouble finding a favorite. Mike and Rob (Bob and John - Acquired Taste by Scarlet Ibis) was the early choice, but Parachute Coney (Badge of Silver - Queen of Valentine by Storm Creek) was the 2-1 selection at post time. Parachute Coney had defeated Mike and Rob last time out. Post Pattern (English Channel - Country Cookout by Formal Dinner) looked good in the paddock. He was 37-1. Parachute Coney looked good on the track all by himself, away from the pony. Adriatic Spirit (Wild Desert - Dinah's Pearls by Dynaformer) received an equipment adjustment. The start was good. There was a scramble for the front, Sonnyandpally (City Zip - Riotous Miss by Brief Ruckus), Adriatic Spirit, Mike and Rob, and Current Aquasition (Stormy Atlantic - Grand Merger by A.P. Indy) were all in the mix. Post Pattern had a good spot in mid-pack. Sonnyandpally took a short lead, but Mike and Rob was still right there. Wild Exploit (Wild Desert - Exploited Kris by Exploit) was making up ground, and Post Pattern was starting a run on the outside. The finish was wild. Wild Exploit was clearly the winner coming between horses, but it took a photo to determine the minor awards. It was Mike and Rob by a nose over Ampersand (City Zip - Graeme Central by Graeme Hall), who was a head in front of Post Pattern. It was definitely an improved effort from Post Pattern. Wild Exploit is the second winner for Wild Desert. Watch the Replay.

Prateada Silences the Field

Fun and Gains (Sharp Humor - Richwood Girl by Clever Trick) was scratched, leaving 11 on the Polytrack. Golden Rock (Bernardini - Zehoorr by Storm Cat) was the lukewarm choice, but was a late scratch. Amongst those left, St. Jean (Macho Uno - French Park by Ecton Park) got the nod. Ice Cream Silence (Street Sense - Double Scoop by Seeking the Gold), Toxis (Street Sense - Instinct by Thunder Gulch), and Cheechako (Invasor (ARG) - Bird Harbor by Boston Harbor) were all around 12-1. I liked the look of Cheechako in the paddock, and Mrs. Boyd (Proud Citizen - Northern Dream by Deputy Minister) had some good energy. Aredhel (Aragorn (IRE) - Honor Gone by Gone West) objected to having her lip tattoo read. She then was stubborn at the load. The start was good for all except Ice Cream Silence, who was off slowly and trailed. Bla Bla Bla (Stormy Atlantic - Pommes Frites by Dynaformer) was up front, along with St. Jean and Silver Arch (Silver Wagon - Heyam by Unreal Zeal). Then, Aredhel began to get involved, and Cheechako was not far off either. Silver Arch took a brief lead, but Prateada (Badge of Silver - Touche de Velours by Meadowlake) was coming. She hit the front, and went on to win by 1 1/2 lengths. Closing well on the inside was Ice Cream Silence, who recovered from her poor start to grab second. Silver Arch held third, and Toxis closed to fourth. Cheechako got up to third, before retreating a bit and finishing 6th. Positive debuts for all three of our runners, and they should move forward. Watch the Replay.

Loving Her

Treatherlikealady (Harlan's Holiday - Strollin Slew by Seattle Slew) and Saturday's Girl (Any Given Saturday - Ricki S by Prized) were scratched. The track was fast. Vionnet (Street Sense - Cambiocorsa by Avenue of Flags) was favored by a couple of ticks over fellow debuter Princess Ash (Indian Charlie - Boston Lady by Boston Harbor). Vionnet broke in the air, and was at the back early. Princess Ash went for the early lead, and My Bashert (With Distinction - Caught Ree by Eastern Echo) soon joined her. Spacecoast (Formal Dinner - Nature Coast by Conveyor) and Made to Love Her (Stevie Wonderboy - Love Boot by Storm Boot) were chasing, just off the top pair. Princess Ash and My Bashert continued to battle. Princess Ash shook free from My Bashert, but Made to Love Her was still coming, and she got her neck in front at the wire. Princess Ash was game in second, My Bashert weakened to third, and Vionnet improved her position to finish fourth. Made to Love Her is the 7th winner for Stevie Wonderboy. Watch the Replay.
