Vero is the Hero

All eight ran on the fast track. Seven Kind (Congrats - Affirmed Toor by Affirmed) was favored, while Channelofdreams (English Channel - So Soulful by Real Quiet) was 68-1, the longest shot on the board. Seven Kind went for the lead with Heir to Dixie (Wildcat Heir - Dixie Probe by Dixieland Band). Just off this pair was Running Wildcat (D'wildcat - Unbridled Christi by Unbridled). Channelofdreams was off slowly, and Whisper Onthe Wind (Flower Alley - Niblett's Bluff by Mt. Livermore) was off even slower. Heir to Dixie began to tire, and Running Wildcat claimed second. Making runs were Vero's Hero (Trippi - Luricon by Lure) and Rex's Last Tour (First Tour - Dr Rexsonshope by Rexson's Hope). Vero's Hero was closing best, and he got his neck in front of Seven Kind at the wire. Rex's Last Tour took third, and Running Wildcat finished fourth, as experienced horses filled the superfecta. It's O'Prado Again

The race was taken off of the turf, and run at a mile and an eighth on the Polytrack. Gold Policy (Giacomo - Point Me the Way by Point Given), Optionality (More Than Ready - Trippi Street by Trippi), and Swaggaboy (Stevie Wonderboy - Thendara by Sekari (GB)) were scratched, allowing AE entrants O'Prado Again (El Prado (IRE) - Leh She Run by Pulpit) and St Moose (Lemon Drop Kid - Lady Reiko (IRE) by Sadler's Wells) to run. O'Prado Again was made the favorite, and Manx (English Channel - Supreme Council by Rahy) was almost 15-1. He pulled his way to the front however, hounded by First Minister (Tale of the Cat - Cool Reception by Deputy Minister). Those two dueled for a time. Then, Rock Harder (Rock Hard Ten - Abundance by Anabaa) made a big move to bound into the picture. Manx kept fighting, and put his head back in front. However, fresh competition was coming from O'Prado Again and Hogue (Exchange Rate - Bless You by Dynaformer). O'Prado Again took the race by 1 3/4 lengths, with Hogue claiming second.
