Dreaming of Neno Takes Closerwalk

More Anon (Imperialism - Roca by Noactor) was scratched (he runs tomorrow instead, see below), and the track was fast. Closerwalk (Street Sense - Cool Pussycat by Tabasco Cat), Dreaming of Neno (Exclusive Quality - Gold Bag Lady by Friendly Lover), and Mordi's Miracle (Lawyer Ron - Enchanted Woods by Woodman) all took money, with Mordi's Miracle the slight favorite at post time. Closerwalk looked nice in the paddock, as did Mordi's Miracle. Jamie's Boy (Saint Anddan - A Lot of Drops by Numerous) got a nice warmup. Mordi's Miracle continue to impress on the track. Whining (Simon Pure - Sweeping Showers by End Sweep) dumped his rider, got loose on the track, and was scratched. Dreaming of Neno was a little stubborn at the load. The jockey jumped off, and in he went. Jamie's Boy, having already been loaded, was acting up. He was backed out, and was a late scratch. At the break, Mordi's Miracle took a left turn, lost his rider, and took off the wrong way around the track. Among those still in the race, Closerwalk and Dreaming of Neno went for the lead. Closerwalk held it briefly, but Dreaming of Neno went by to set the pace. These two soon left the others behind. Closerwalk stuck with Dreaming of Neno throughout the race, but couldn't catch him, and Dreaming of Neno went on to score a 3/4 length win. Island Scholar (Exclusive Quality - Catomaria by Tale of the Cat) was back in third, followed by Take Advantage (Trippi - K K's Kitty by Yes It's True) and Fire Falls (Fire Slam - Seneca Falls by Boundary). Thankfully, the outriders kept free-running Mordi's Miracle on the outside rail, and he did not affect the remaining runners. Watch the Replay.

Diez Reels Them In

The turf was firm, and only the AEs were scratched. Debuting Core Inflation (Closing Argument - by Tabasco Cat) was favored. D' Pepjo (Hard Spun - Cloud Break by Dr. Carter) was 14-1. He looked good on the track. Arthur (Artie Schiller - Janeian (NZ) by The Jogger) was spunky in the paddock, and in the warmup. Rockstar Richie (Bring the Heat - Deserving Honor by Honour and Glory) was reluctant to load. Unreal (Johannesburg - Unforgettable by Empire Maker) outbroke the field, but he soon had company. Among those joining him was D' Pepjo, and he took the lead from his rail spot. Someday Came (City Place - Mystical Susan by French Deputy) was in pursuit, along with Core Inflation and Venture World (Elusive Quality - Freudenau by Meadowlake). D' Pepjo continued to lead into the stretch. Surging on the outside was Diez (Rock Hard Ten - Provisions by Devil's Bag), who got up for a clear 1/2 length win. The minor awards were less clear, with 6 horses finishing together. They studied the photo for a long time. Finally, two deadheats were announced. Venture World and Rockstar Richie took second, and a head behind were D'Pepjo and Core Inflation in fourth. Just a neck behind that pair, was Random Pay Check (Gone West - Baena by El Prado (IRE)) in 6th, and then another neck to Unreal in 7th. Watch the Replay.
