Ann of the Dance (filly; English Channel - Dans La Ville (CHI) by Winning) finished 5th in the Sweetest Chant Stakes on firm turf at Gulfstream Park. The winner was favorite Dayatthespa (City Zip - M'Lady Doc by Doc's Leader), who came from off the pace to win by 1 3/4 lengths despite running greenly. Watch the Replay.
Cheimon Gets It Done
Bramley (Dynaformer - Sharp Apple by Diesis (GB)) was the only scratch, and the turf was firm. Marlin Mission (Strategic Mission - Flying Marlin by Marlin) was favored. Cheimon (Corinthian - Storm City Blues by Carson City) was 7-1, and English Beauty (English Channel - Preservation Hall by Dixieland Band) was almost 40-1. Satyana (Street Cry (IRE) - Lovely Regina by Deputy Minister) went to the front. Cheimon and Manda Bay (Empire Maker - Summer Wind Dancer by Siberian Summer) went after her, and Happy Now (Mr. Greeley - Meghan's Joy by A.P. Indy) began to get involved as well. Cheimon moved into the lead on the turn, and held off Manda Bay and M'Dearest (Macho Uno - Love and Marry by Known Fact) by a head and a nose to get the win. English Beauty was about mid-pack, and then steadied and retreated, finishing 9th.

Zo Zo Impressive
Buleria (Empire Maker - Wend by Pulpit) was scratched, leaving 9 on the fast track. Morrow Cove (Yes It's True - Once Around by You and I) was favored. Zo Impressive (Hard Spun - Zoftig by Cozzene) was 11-1, and Street Fleet (Street Sense - Fleet Felicity by A.P. Indy) was almost 30-1. Brilliant Katie (Gone West - Katherine Seymour (GB) by Green Desert) set the pace. Gossip Line (A.P. Indy - Tattletale by Quiet American) applied brief pressure, but then retreated. On the Same Page (Catienus - Blue Holiday by Cure the Blues) was a more persistent pursuer. Zo Impressive and Street Fleet were both near the front. Zo Impressive made her move in the stretch, and pulled away for a 6 1/4 length win. Morrow Cove grabbed second by a nose late over On the Same Page, and Brilliant Katie weakened to fourth. Toxis Delivers
There were no scratches, and the track was fast. Cherishd Obsession (Corinthian - Silver Wench by Silver Ghost) was favored at 2-1, and Toxis (Street Sense - Instinct by Thunder Gulch) was 5-1. Play Soleil (Latent Heat - Prevention by Aptitude) came out running, with Cherishd Obsession stalking. Ocean Bertie (Posse - Get Ready Bertie by More Than Ready) and Orchid Alley (Flower Alley - Lan Kwai Fong (AUS) by Bluebird) were up close as well. Toxis was sitting off of the pace. Ocean Bertie made a move while running wide, and took a short lead. Toxis was starting to move. She caught Ocean Bertie, and went by for a 1/2 length win. Ocean Bertie held second, and Cherishd Obsession had to settle for third. Watch the Replay.

Robi Jo Steals the Fantasy
The turf was firm, and only the MTOs were left out. French Breeze (Elusive Quality - Di's Delight by French Deputy) was the choice of the bettors, and Street Fantasy (Street Sense - Rich Fantasy by Richter Scale) was 21-1. Successfulprincess (Successful Appeal - Morethanaprincess by More Than Ready), Somewhat Honest (Lemon Drop Kid - Be My Lover by Belong to Me), and Invulnerable (Henny Hughes - Voodoo Baby by Ogygian) battled early. Only Exception (Tiznow - Favorite Times by Souvenir Copy) made the first move and hit the front, but her lead was short-lived. Robi Jo (Lemon Drop Kid - Lord Remember Me by Lord At War (ARG)) and Street Fantasy both went by her, with Robi Jo recovering from a slow start for a 1 3/4 length win. Street Fantasy settled for second, but it was a promising debut for her as well. Interesting that first-timers accounted for all three spots of the trifecta. Watch the Replay.

Joint Venture (colt; Corinthian - Spanish Melody by El Prado (IRE)) was 6th in race 7 at Turfway Park, a 1 1/16 mile Maiden Claiming Race (Claiming Price $15,000). Network News (Kitten's Joy - Roja by L'Enjoleur) took the race by 12 lengths.
Southern English (colt; English Channel - South Ocean Blvd by Capote) finished 8th in race 4 at Oaklawn Park, a 6 furlong Maiden Claiming Race (Claiming Price $25,000) for 3, 4, and 5-year-olds. The winner was Crow Bridge (Half Ours - Strikeapromise by Smart Strike). Southern English was claimed out of the race. Hopefully, his new connections run him on the turf.
Flame Run (filly; Hard Spun - Swept Away by Mystery Storm) did not get in off the MTO list for race 4 at Fair Grounds, an Allowance/Optional Claiming Race which was run at About 5.5 furlongs on the good turf.
